I'm digging all of them.  I'll most likely get a blister of each to compliment my old Rogue Trader era aspect warriors.  Then I'll have a nice looking bargain exarch armed the same as his squad, as well as having the uber exarch with fancy weapons.

The Banshee exarch is my favorite.  Great pose and execution.

I love that Scorpion Exarch. Very imposing. Also, I like the new Banshees a lot more, after having seen them painted. I wasn't too sure of them when i first saw them.

Man, two swords on the Banshee Exarch... Counts-as Executioner, or something else..?

EDIT: Apparently not. According to the Warseer thread, it's dual Mirrorblades, whatever those are.

Not to mention the Q&A answears Konate posted:

I was given the impression that Gav had only been briefed on some particulars of the Eldar codex. There wasn't much new info. That being said, he seemed to know a lot about the codex, but no particulars (he new the brightlance would stay the same, but that the pulse laser would change, but not how), and would shy away from specific questions since he didn't seem to be able to give a specific answer.

Things we did find out were:

Dire Avengers are not a 1+ choice. He said GW did not want to get in that habit.

Gav thinks that 2 or 3 Autarchs will be available at launch (all metal)

Wraithguard will not be remodeled for the time being.

Craftworlds: He's still sticking to his guns that there will be no craftworld list in the new codex, but all can be done with the new codex since it is so flexible (jetbikes are troops). He did mention that there will be 2 new craftworlds in the codex (I'd imagine fluff-wise)

The 3 warwalker box set will be a limited release, thereafter sold individually for $25 (was a guess).

Harlequin answers were always "Maybe".

Interesting on the Autarchs, happy the DA's are not 1+ and later on the mention of mirror swords and tempast launher (possibly the oversize reaper launcher) has me drooling. I really am liking some of those models.

How come the Banshees have slots to fit in slottabases? First I just figured that any of the grey minis were resin as usual, and didn't feel the urge to shout Plastic Bashees! GW Roxxor!!!11ONE

However, I cannot remember seing actual slots on GW's pre-production resin minis before. Is my memory failing me, or what?

I hadn't noticed the claw on the SS exarch, very cool.

I think they're all great. My favorite is the striking scorpion exarch.

I think thats a more accurate statement for the fire dragon exarch, he has a gun thats almost twice as long as he is tall...

Amongst the Stars, In the Night

As I noted in the other thread, I wondered what happened to GW having dynamic action posed miniatures. The Autarch is rather dissapointing in what has become the GW trademark static pose. Same goes for both the Fire Dragon Exarch and the Reaper exarch, both with their logic and physics defyingly huge weapons (how the hell do they fire those things?!?). While I can appreciate over the top imagery (obviously, since I've been a fan of 40k for nearly 20 years now), those guns are just way too much.

On the other hand, the Banshees, gorgeously done and beautiful sculpts, are the very example of dynamism in a sculpture in miniature. The Striking Scorpions are nearly as awesome, having rid themselves of the foolish grin of the last sculpts (which, even then, weren't all that bad). Lastly, the farseer, while yet again in one of GW's trademark static poses, is otherwise a fine looking figure.

Autrarch is horrible. I was expecting alittle more than a guardian with rehashed exarch parts tacked on :/

Dark Reaper Exarch is... wtf? Way too retro... current exarch is much better, imo.

Everything else is top notch... love the banshees, love the scorps, and love the farseer.

Wow Jester, he does look like Himmler.

I like the models, altough the Autarch is kind of over the top. I'll probably just make one of my own, out of spare Guardian bitz.

They are resin masters. I had a conversation with Colin Grayson at GD Toronto about the specific reasons why they make them but the conversation is a blur now and I can't recall why it is they make resin masters. Something about resin not stressing the moulds as much I think.

Sweet. those models are so looking like the glory days of eldar, when banshees were cool, scorpions didn't have buck teeth and banana heads and the colors were great. Jes, you are a eldar sculpting god.... Capt K

They do look good, and are really evocative of the 2nd ed. eldar stuff.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil
