An auspex allows a unit to take a free shot at enemy infiltrators before the game begins. If the game uses the nightfight rules, are those rules in play before the game begins? For Dusk and Dawn, it specifically says only the first turn, so I would say no, but what if nightfight existed for the entire game? And what if you used an auspex to shoot at a unit of stealth suits, which always use the nightfight rules? Would you first roll 4D6 for the auspex range, and then test for nightfight as normal? It seems strange to spot a unit with an auspex but then not spot it due to nightfight. - Oaka - Oaka

Dusk and dawn only apply to the first or last and following turns, not the deployment. If you want to use Dawn fluff, then just use indirect mortors so you don't need LOS anyway

I would say that you would need to roll the auspex and then the night fight range, just think of it as the unit looking at the auspex and seeing a return on the screen and then peering out into the night trying to spot what is out there and if they see it they will have a pop at them. Also fluff wise i would say that if it is dawn then you would still use the night fighting rules as if it is before the first turn then it would still be dark as they do say it is darkest just before dawn!
