Clearly there are going to be lots of bits for the autarch (but it looks like the heads might be attached to the bodies- I'd be sure they were if it wasn't for the guy in the lower right corner, although maybe he represents the non warpspider backpack version), and alot of beautiful Wraithlords!

Also we see there will be three varients on the new farseer model and multiple arms for the exarchs.

Also some new DeathKorps pics:

So it looks like I'll have to trade off some of my old models from various lines to get some new eldar this year. Damn it- I never thought I'd find myself buying eldar.

At first I thought the Farseer was multi-part, and would come with different arm varients in the box set, but looking closer I think you're right in thinking they are completely different models. Dang.

Notice the Fire Dragon Exarch with Fusion gun? Looks like he gets that option in box. Also, what's with the other Rangers back there? Are those Pathfinders? Or just Rangers in blister for later release?

I was hoping I would just be buying the codex and the new Wraithlord. I feel your pain.

It's hard to buy new armies when I'm busy trying to fund my obsessive collecting of all Nelson's work I wish they'd use him more on greenskins so I didn't have to start a guard army and a wood elf treelove army etc.

Onto the Fire Dragon Exarch- apparently that weapon he has is the Dragon's Breath weapon- it gives him a heavy flamer attack. From what I've heard all the exarchs have 3 weapon options now, including the Striking Scorpion getting a new combo where he can have two chainswords and two wrist-mounted shruken pistols (the option is called chainsabres).

Drake, could you please link those two ginormous, table-breaking images? Pretty please? It's really difficult to read the text when you have to slide scroll across. Thanks amigo!

On to the meat of the matter: Whoah! Dig the variant sculpts though I am dissapointed that it appears GW has gone the easy way out using one or two "base" figures for the basis of 6-8 variations instead of making them truly multi-pose or fresh sculpts for each. Kinda like how they released the four new chaplains, and most used the same leg/torso sculpts with minor details so that while each are "different" they're still all the same. Sigh.

I also appreciate the new Wraithlord sculpt, once again it seems like GW missed an opportunity to put out a totally awesome product. While the WL looks to have lots of parts, design-wise it's the same old, same old and is a bit soft on details. That is it doesn't look like it got the complete Brian Nelson nor Jes Goodwin treatment (would that be a "Full Nelson"?). Do they have a manpower shortage in the sculpting department or what? Freelancing doesn't seem to be working very well...

Dives with Horses

I like most of the new models but I think the Autarch is kind of lame, just too over the top.

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.

I understand that GW wants to get as many different figs out as they can in a reasonable timeframe, so they need to recycle some of the parts they are using. I mean, sculpting is a hard business, and if you can cut corners and still get the job done, you do it. Gork knows the sculptors have enough on their plate as is, so anything to move the process along...

I think my only real dissapointment with the Wraithlord is that it has those huge, single piece legs. I would think that it would not have been too hard to do a nice break in the legs at the knees to allow for posability. Still, I'm sure that sprue real estate is at a premium, and anything they can do to conserve it to get other fun bits - like the hand holding the gun grip - can be included. GW knows that there are those of us that will convert if we wish to, so why go to all the trouble of making knee joints if the dedicated and insane will do it for them.

I can only imagine the organizational battles that must be waged to really get all those parts in order and on sprue, though, so I guess it's something that we'll have to accept.

Drake - maybe you're right about the Exarch weapon. FOr some reason I had thought that the Dragon's breath was a helmet mounted weapon. Not sure why. I think that I would go the Breath route before I went with the Firepike. Dragons have trouble with hordes and a Heavy Flamer could really help that out, and it would still alow the rest of the squad to contribute, where the Firepike would often be firing it's first shot all by its lonesome.

Sorry Knightly! I'm not that savy when it comes to webhosting stuff so I kinda did it without thinking. Please accept my apologies.
