This is a callout to all Space Marine players who think they're the best!

Page 3 of the 40K rulebook lists 'a typical space marine army'.  This typical army is a tactical nightmare.  If you have the models, build this army and play a single Gamma Cleanse mission.  Reply to this message with the victory point differential of the game played.  Whoever has the highest victory point differential will be (in my eyes) the greatest Space Marine general on Dakka.  The challenge will last for exactly one week after this initial post (Ending August 16, 10 PM Eastern Time).  You must build your army WYSIWYG from the picture.

Note that the terminator squad has a heavy flamer.

Note that the tactical squads have a missile launcher and flamer in one squad and only bolters in the other.

I'd be interested to see the results.

I added up the army and discovered 2 things.
1. Its not legal, look at the command squad, theres a techmarine in there. Simple fix, the techmarine is elite and the command squad gets an extra bolter guy.
2.Its 1452 with every wysiwig with the extra bolter guy.

So you could eiter have people play 50 points down, or you could list what wargear to give people.

Hmmm...

Well, I think a good option would be to allow wargear suited to taste to bring it up to 1500.  There are plenty of different avenues open for ~50 points of wargear, and that may add that little aspect of choice that is sorely needed in a list like that.  Anyway, we've got a game scheduled now for Sunday and my friend will use this list against my Kroot, I'll let him know what the points cost is, thanks for figuring that out.

Your points on the land speeder are too high btw

Well i used the old codex since i dont have the new one.
Dunno if they changed it though.

Using this list, the marines lost by 796 victory points.  Basically, as soon as my Kroot took out the land speeder with some sniper fire, there was nothing the marine army could do without completely exposing itself.  My opponent sped the land raider up and got out with the terminator squad for some heavy flamer goodness, but the entire unit and transport were then swamped with eviscerators.  Terrible list. 

New question:  Can anyone win with this list?
