I have noticed as of late when I have bought stuff from GW that I have been given lots of miss packaged boxes, I got a Tyranid battle force recently and it had nothing for termigaunts but instead double the parts for hormigaunts.  And the Hive Tyrant I got had two bone swords and no whip.  Now this stuff didn't bother me because I would rather the hormigaunts and wasn't going to use the Bone sword and whip anyway but I am just wondering if anyone out there is having the same problem of is this just a mine fluke I have run into.  I know a few years back GW was notorious for miss packs but it was not till recently that I have had any problems with it and two in a shot time frame is there packing process falling apart all of a sudden?

I've bought tons of boxed sets and not had a problem except for trivial things like missing flying base rods or double round bases.

Maybe it's the US company has started to have a problem?

I found a few squig blisters with extra squigs. No complaints there. A friend of mine did buy bloodletters and was missing 2 axes. GW went to give him another box opened it up right there and it was missing a couple axes too. So they just pulled some axes from the first box and put it in the second.

I get that sometimes too. I'm missing the bottom half of a smoke launcher for my predator.

The worst I've had was two of the 3rd edition lictors that both had two left legs

I bought two boxes of gaunts, and each box had 16 slottabases, and 16 solid bases. So I got a total of 64 bases, between the two boxes.

That is about the extent of "miss-packaging" I have encountered.

I got a LRC a couple years ago with two left assault cannons. It took over six weeks to get it sorted out. Over the years the only mispacks I've seen are the combo metal/plastic kits or all metal kits. I've never had a mispack on an all plastic kit that I can recall.

I had a dark elf dragon with the last tail piece missing, orc boar boyz with no shields & a praetorian sentinel blister with one of the 'foot' supports missing.

Had a few problems in the past myself as well.

Broadside with two left SMS arms, easy enough to convert back.
Basilisk with two of the same side gun mount, called GW to get it replaced and they sent me a whole new sprue.
Set of SM Bikes had 4 slotted bike bases and 4 solid bike bases.

Then there was the infamous case of the Tau army box where EVERY one of them was missing a crisis suit.

The one great thing with GW is that if you call them and have the Batch Code from a blister or a box and fine the part your missing they will send you one free. I bought 9 blisters of Striking Scorpions and was missing 4 arms, two full blisters, and tons of countless other things. Squad boxes missing bases...but in about week it all get back together.

Just the other day I opened up a Vyper (which I'd bought over a year ago) only to find that it was missing the whole hull/hood.

I'm with Anarchyman99 the best thing that could happen is miss packed box cause it means bonus bits or cheep miniatures when you buy the missing parts online.

Why would you buy the missing parts online when they were supposed to be with the original package? I might slag GW for a lot of things, but one thing they are good about (and, really, most game other companies are really good at too) is that they'll replace it if something's missing, damaged, miscast and/or otherwise not right. Just dial up Customer Service and let them know "hey, 'item x' was missing from 'box set y'" and ask "would you guys sent me that bit/piece/sprue/whatever?" The answer, for me, has always been "Sure thing, right away! And is there anything else you'd like to order? We'll ship it for free!"

I can't say I've had any problems with any of their plastic boxes, but on more than few occasions I've called them about miscast metal pieces, missing picks (or wrong bitz picked) and similar. Everytime GW has been very prompt in fixing the problem and I've even been able to add bitz orders on top of it and get them shipped for free to boot (as noted above). Though I'll admit, it's been a couple years since I've bought anything from GW...

Third edition Tyranid Blisters were horrible, particularly Raveners, Tyrant Guard, and Lictors. Very common problems in having say, two left legs, and such. I bulk ordered a bunch of blisters from the Warstore, and ended up having quite a bitz problem. Fortunately, GW did take care of the problem. They must have been puzzeled by how much was wrong though, and I did have to give batch codes as well.

In the Chaos Army Box I got I got an extra 4 Marines, but I was missing about 8 backpacks.

Best thing was when I went to GW and bought two Defilers. Came home to find one of the boxes had two Defilers in there! 3 for the price of 2!!

Example I buy a treeman with two left arms. I walk to my local retail, he notes it as complaint and GW sends a new treeman and I don't have to pay anything. Next step going online and order a right Treeman arm (and some other stuff).
That's pretty cheap don't you think?

Standing outside Jester's house demanding the things he took from my underwear drawer.

When I was working in the store I've seen a ton of mispacks usually metals with two right wings/legs/arms, etc.

When I manager game store that sold a bunch of GW, I took a bunch of the replaced partial box sets and made most of my Chaos Army. 1 Partial box of Fantasy Chaos Warriors (late 90's edition, no legs), box of Chaos marines (missing arms), a miscast landraider , a zombie box (missing something I can't remember), and a bunch of regular marine sprues that were either miscast of the wrong part in their respective boxs. I paid about $10 for the bulk of my Chaos Marine army, ordered about $30 worth of bits (mostly arms and special weapons), threw in some old turbofan jumppacks, the free plastuc dread given to my store right before release, and was good to go.

Recently mt FLGS got his 4 Jump pack Chaplains without any jump packs.

I've seen the Reaper Exarch with both weapon options and both look like things you can buy in sex shops. A weapon should not look like this, not even a Emperor's Children weapon. -Symbio Joe

I have a Landraider with two left hulls. I'll have to get around to contacting GW about that one. In the past I've received a package of Kroot hounds without the leg sprue (8 months ago) and I've had Devilfish body parts (3 years ago) that were malformed. In all cases GW sent me replacement parts.

I had not had a problem in like 5 years then all of a sudden I had like two miss packs. I was looking to see if it was a new phenomenon but apparently miss packs had never gone away but rather I got lucky and had just not had any for a long time.

Dear Whiny Space Marine Players,
you get 3+ armor saves on all your troops (save scouts), Assault cannons, a huge assortment of vehicles and weapons, arguably one of the best if not THE best tank in the game, funny helmets, and a partrige in a pear tree.

suck it up, space marines. You're the emperor's chosen superhuman warriors. stop whining like a guardsmen and take it like a superman!

I ordered a tank company from a GW store (Epic-specialist games order).  I only received nine tank bodies (ten in the set). I was told they would re-order and followed up twice with the store-kept saying it was on back order. I have quit buying EPIC until such time as that is fixed.
