Hello, I have been playing LatD for a while now but allways as a "fun" army, meaning I would take the units I liked instead of an optimised list, and the results on the battlefield were not impressive.  So I thought I would have a go at making something much more streamlined.

After trying to make an efficient LatD list this is what I came up with:

Troops:

5 Traitors, Lascannon (infiltrates) 60pts
5 Traitors, Lascannon (infiltrates) 60pts
5 Traitors, Lascannon (infiltrates) 60pts
5 Traitors, Lascannon (infiltrates) 60pts
21 Mutants, boss, fist, 2x Heavy Stubbers 161pts
21 Mutants, boss, fist, 2x Heavy Stubbers 161pts

Heavy Support:

Leman Russ, 3 Heavy Bolters 155pts
Leman Russ, 3 Heavy Bolters 155pts
Basilisk, indirect 125pts

Fast Attack:

Hellhound, pintle Heavy Stubber 127pts

HQ:

Aspiring Champion, MOCU, fist, mutation, spiky 82pts

Aspiring Champion, MOCU, fist, mutation, spiky 82pts

Elites:

3 Obliterators 210pts

Total: 1498pts    71 models

So what do you think of this list?  Can I make it better somehow?

One thing I have been considering using is a Lord on a bike with the Manreaper, other than that I dont see what else I would "need" or remove to get him.

that is a flippin brutal list, other than the very low survivability for the traitor squads. but they are cheap and if they soak up an entire enemy squad's attention for a turn or two, then they are still earning their points. and the real punch of your army are the mutant squads and the oblits. i think this list is about as lean and mean as you can get at 1500. at 1850 i would go for the lord on bike with man reaper as that is an awesome unit, very fast, and super killy.

the russ's and hellhound can draw fire and provide cover for the mutants with 2 embeded power fists each, side shots with the infiltrating las cannons, and crowd control with the hellhound and russ's. very very tough.

the only possible thing i could think of to make the list more versatile is a fast scoring unit for objectives, but other than that, this is a nails list, IMHO, plus well done, these armies look greeat on table and are not so common.

Thanks for the reply!

When you say "fast scoring unit" do you mean like a small Chaos Hounds unit or more like a Raptor squad? (or something entirely different?)
I wouldnt know what to remove to get something like the Raptors, but 5-6 Hounds just for objective grabbing is a possibility.

RE: the Traitors, I dont expect them to survive too long but I usually put them in some nice 4+ cover and that makes them live a little longer. But NOT at the expence of a good shot!

the one unit in my army that always gets the highest return on its points is a land speeder with a hevay bolter. it hides until turn 6, then it jumps onto an objective. in any objective based scenario, this little 50 point model wins games.

In my experiance that is the one problem static armies have, they cant seize objectives very well. You have your russ's, two mutant squads and your hellhound to grab objectives and all of which will deffinately be getting shot at and none of which is all that fast (most everything else wont be moving too much). a cheap unit like hounds perhaps, that can fleet, you wont be tempted to shoot with, and can get where you need it will really help. objectives win games.

But you sersiously have a tough list here, it would be fun to play.
