Not much to report on mini's from GenCon.

Hasbro/WotC released the Dreamblade collectable mini game. They aren't bad and there are some cool looking figures in the line, but I didn't get a chance to demo the game.

Rackham had *gasp* a coupon and credits. The coupon came in the GenCon coupon book and they also gave you $10 gift certificate for every $75 you spent. The certificates were only good for Sunday though.

WizKids was selling Horror Clix starters and boosters. I was able to get a giant Cthulhu limited edition clix. I know it's not really that limited, but I've been a Lovecraft and Cthulhu fan for many years and had to have it.

GW was absent as usual

Privateer Press released Superiority and had all the new models, including ones not yet for sale, on display. The studio artists were offering free painting tips and demos. No big announcement from them this year. Their stuff just gets better and better.

The makers of FoW were not there. I find it odd that they don't show for GenCon as popular as they are right now. I'm guessing they may hit the historical convention circuit or something.

I never meet women like that in real life.  I meet the ones who look like her, I meet the ones willing to wear stormtrooper armor, but I have never met a woman who looked like her and was willing to wear stormtrooper armor.

I got Clickthulhu at ComicCon. He makes me so happy. I don't think I'll ever play a game of Horrorclix, and I don't care. They didn't have any starter sets for sale then though, or I probably would have bought one. Probably still will. Oh, they also had the Aliens for the AVP Horrorclix, which were seriously cool. I didn't look at the other clicky things that much though.

Did PP have the full sized Iron Lich statue at GenCon? That thing ROCKED.

The full size Iron Lich was back again. However they got rid of the smoke machine that was under it the first two years they had it. It didn't produce a lot of smoke, and the more I think about it, it may have just been dry ice. Anyway, it was cool with the inner green glow and smoke. Now it just has the green glow.

The great Cthulhu won't be impossible to find, you just may have to pay a bit more than the original asking price of $85. I seem to remember everyone making a bid deal about the 'limited edition' Battletech drop ship. You can still find those for original retail and get them cheaper on eBay.

Whats this about a AvP clix game?!

After seeing the price of that beast I'd be more interested in trading minis for him :p

The adorable Kari Byron from Mythbusters was there too.

It's going to be part of Horrorclix.  They had a boxed set of maybe half a dozen Aliens on display at ComicCon.  No Predators though.  I have no idea when they're coming out, but they looked really cool.  If I remember correctly, they were all your basic warriors, but I wouldn't be surprised if they come out with a queen and face-huggers.  The poses were great with the Aliens climbing around on things.  I really should have taken a picture.  I'm never the supplier of new rumors here.

Nah, they mostly do 1:1 scale stuff, much too costly for me.

I also heard they were looking to convert from Real Time Strategy to an I Go You Go based scenario.
