New (?) AT-43 art

Don't know how "official" it is, but I stumbled across this nifty "Design character for the new game by Rackham 'AT-43'" stashed in with a bunch of beautiful drawings for DUST (an independant 54mm pre-painted Weird War II game):

Awesome! Very Paolo Parente-esque. In fact, at first I thought the artist was Parente himself, but seems that that he's a she (Alessia Z. aka Fuchsia). Most certainly a contemporary, since DUST is Parente's brainchild, and he also did concept work for AT-43. (Elusive probably already knows all that)

I very much look forward to AT-43 coming out. Pre-painted or not, it looks totally kicking rad. I just hope I have the scratch for it! :s

Sweet, they look like characters from battlelords of the 23rd century. I love that game. I will have to keep my eye on this stuff in the future.(The whole prepainted scares me a little).

Hurr! Cuz "Warhammer 40,000" is sooo original, rite? I mean, did you even bother to look at the art? Obviously not.

Uh, the fact that he plays 40k means he must see space marines a lot, it could be possible he's tired of that style, which the drawings do follow. They DO look like marines+aliens, even if marines do look like everything else, that is still true.

I'm not a huge fan myself.

Pretty good. Not too ground-breaking of a design but not as cliche-ridden as has been suggested. I've certainly never seen a mini that looks quite like that.

I like the extreme amounts of gear on it. One thing I notice one rarely sees in sci-fi miniature wargames is gear. I carry a bigger backpack when I cycle to work every day than most Imperial Guardsmen I've seen! This guy is carrying so much stuff, it almost looks like the artist imagined every piece of gear this soldier might need. That speaks to a level of detail that really impresses me.

Although I don't know how dynamic a miniature that laden could be sculpted to be.

Flame me for an opinion why don't you? Did I ever say GW was original? Nope. Anyway, not getting into flame wars cos that's just boring for everyone and they bug me.

On topic - this image (which I did look at) actally looks really like the old Starship Troopers box game art I had 10-15 years ago. Anyone else have that game? The old hex 'n'n counters one?

Great stuff. One of the better versions of near-future battlesuits I've seen. There's only so many practical designs (yay engineering) a spacesuit can have so I see no cliches. Now if they were going for one of those wacky fantasy battlesuit designs that's when I'll care about originality.

I'm just wondering how that hand can open that tiny thigh pocket.
