I'm seriously looking into those Infinity models. That stuff looks sweet...

Though, why not just wait for AT-43? Then you can play without painting

RE: Scifi!

They're all good in their own way. Urban War, Infinity, Street Violence and Rezolution are all small-unit skirmish. Aetherverse, Shockforce, 5150 and No Limits have 'create your own' elements to them and (I think) alternating activation (as opposed to IGOUGO). VOID 1.1 is basically Warhammer 40k with a d10. No Limits and Urban War are both free (as are the startup rules to Infinity). Aetherverse and Shockforce are both out of print, but are easily available through ebay and the like. Combat Zone is probably the best supported of the cheapies, and supports everything from MIB to Zombies to post-apocalyptic to whatever.

So really, the question is: what do you want the rules to do? Do you want them to be free? Do you want something radically different from 40k in style? Small skirmish, or big army? I didn't even mention Stargrunt/Stargrunt II, Infinity (which Malf mentioned), AT-43 (the intro rules are also available), VOR, Warzone, etc.

Well, I loved Necromunda's "Small unit with personality" style thing, with more indepth weapons than 40k had, though I disliked no real vehicles being used. And being bound to a single city was a bit of a bummer. Which of thsoe are similar to Necromunda?

As for rule price, free is good, but I don't mind buying them. I would prefer they have their own (good looking) miniature line, though.
