I'm a great fan of the woodelf line of models (the main reason that I collect them), but I cannot stand the standard model for a core part of my army: the treeman ancient.  It looks neither like a tree, a man and it's not all that old looking.  Am I alone in thinking this?  I've been looking around a bit, and the treebeard model from LoTR is ok, a little on the mannish side of tree, but I could make a big ol trunk and canopy where the hobbits currently sit.  Also, how do he (treebeard) and the modular ent kits measure up to FB big monsters?  I'd rather not have a shrimp of a tree, and I'm worried that they would size up to 40mm base models (ogres etc.), rather than 45+mm badasses.

Those "treemen" would make fantastic tree kin, Skwpp, but I'm not so sure they're big enough for TREEMAN status proper. That's actually more the problem, finding tree creatures of substantial bulk (for me anyway ) ... The ents from LotR are always a possibility, if you like the more subdued, less angry and more anthropamorphic tree peoples.

I'm trying to find this one great treeman sculpt that a female sculptor did and posted on Dakka (and put into production, along with a "nurgle" demon prince that had to be discontinued), but I'm having real trouble. It was great, if a little "Nightmare Before Xmas"-y for me at the time, but now I'm thinking I'd like one ...

BUT I did find this on a Col. Marble's review page from 2004:

I know nothing else about the big guy though. If I can find that treeman I was talking about I'll toss up a link, but feel free if anyone else remembers!

ULTRAFORGE is what I was talking about, the gal's name is Sophia.  Looks like the "Treelord" molds were distroyed along with the Lord of Pestilence way back when ... a pity, but they had their reasons to do it.

Here you can see the eevil, alternative painted version of the treelord on CMON, which I was thinking of and would love to have for my very own

Unsure on the size of the thing, but $18 generally means big things when it comes to IWM's pricing.  The sculpt is nice and spooky, if a bit thin in pretty much all areas.

That's always been my favorite of the lot. Bugswarm bought one and he seemed to really like it. Finally we have him. I present you Primeval Treeman. He is huge monster (base is 100x100mm)

and around 30cm! Because its all modules you can glue him in position that you like most...
