RE: Favourite Codex releases...

The best codex they've produced is the Eldar Codex. No units in there are worthless...They all have a reason to be there and the units you pick you pick for style not for effectiveness generally (With the exception of the Clowns on a Falcon)

Tau Empire all the way, it was nice to see the new units and the updates to some of the old faves, i.e; the stealth suits with fusion blasters that added a whole new spin to them.

RE: Favourite Codex releases...

As far as looking forward to a Codex, I was very excited for the Blood Angels release in White Dwarf. Then I was very disappointed that it would be another month before I actually got the list. Then I was totally disappointed with what a totally crapass list it was, and a crushing nerf to the list I was currently playing.

As far as Codices that I really like, Eldar sticks out. I wasn't particularly excited about it coming out, but when I got a copy I was very impressed with how varied the list is, how well balanced all the units are against each other. I think it's the best Codex in the 40K range right now. Might be a bit out of balance power-wise, but the variety and balance within the list is top notch.

I also really like Witch Hunters. I think the Sisters are an interesting list, they can really kick the crap out of stuff when played well, they're very rarely seen, and they've got a distinctive blend of strengths and weaknesses you don't see in other lists. The freakshow stuf, like Arcoflagellants, Penitent Engines, etc. are also cool, tho maybe not all that useful. I should really finish my Sisters army up...

I've looked forward to a new Ork Codex for so long, it's sorta strange to me how much I'm not really looking forward to it anymore. Blame the BA Codex for that, I guess.

Absolutley the most anticipated for me was the new Eldar 'dex. And it didn't disappoint in making every unit viable again. Also for me the very first day I played I picked up some harlequin models because the idea seemed so cool to me. To be able to play with them again is always a thrill. Even if they weren't as good as they currently are I would have to play with them since they attracted me to 40K in the first place.

I will still be excited about all things Eldar but I have always considered Orks the army I almost started and want to play with them when the new codex comes out.
