I want to play Death Korps

Im starting W40k again and I really want to do Death Korps...theyre so badass :>

Would anyone wanna tell me if this would be worth buying FW models or at least post the Death Korps rules? Im pretty sure they have extra rules and stuff. I just dont know where to find em aside from some FW books. I just wanna see the rules before i play. Doesnt seem worth it to buy the book to read a few games of it.

The Guard codex has a set of standard doctrines for the Krieg (IIRC) or you can always use your own set of doctrines to create how the Krieg should fight in your opinion.

The FW Krieg army list is found only in the FW book.
I think your best bet would be to just build it as a standard guard army using the Krieg doctrine set or your own like has been mentioned. The book is expensive but I'm sure if you want to go with the "real" list they printed, it wouldn't be much different than what you can get out of the codex .. it is a guard army after all.

Just be prepared to shell out a lot of money. Not sure where you live, but here in the US with the exchange rate being so icky, the 2 units of death korps I bought came out to be around $70 each.. $140 for 20 guys. I was expecting less because I'm dumb and thought the pounds on the FW site was really Euros.. oh well The models however are very nice so if you can afford it and want a really great looking army, then I'm sure you won't be disapointed

RE: I want to play Death Korps

If you want to play Death Korp and can afford the prices then go for it. I recently bought my first infantry squad and have painted up my first guardsmen and he looks cool. They allow you to paint them a little more freely, without worrying too much about perfect highlighting etc due to the gritty look they should have.

As for the rules, they are slightly better than normal guardsment at close combat, which isn't much use, but when I build a usable sized army I am going to use the doctrines I want. The artillery rules are good, infernus (I think they're called off the top of my head) make units fall back so are well worth taking and they add a different look to the normal Guard army.

Hope this helps.
