In the past I've had things like plastic scouts (which when we got them were pretty disappointed IMHO), plastic accessories (mostly handled by packing more and more into sprues) and nuttin but skulls (which BWbitz and similar companies can do I guess). So now my list looks like:

1 - Harliquins with ball joints on the arms and legs
2 - Trenchcoat and gasmask IG, cause, yeah, I could use a 5th IG army.
3 - 40k staff car, something like the ones from Battle Angel Alita/Gunm by Yukito Kishiro or the ones in Miller and Darrow's Hardboiled
4 - IG command section, with all weapon options.

Regardless, the real question is what's so great about plastic? Everyone knows that the detail in plastic kits isn't as good as metal, despite the fact that GW's monthly ad magazine tells us (or used to, I dunno if it still does) that "the plastic moulding process is getting better and better every day".

Their new kits would suggest something to the contrary, observe for example the new chaos terminators, they make me want to throw up (and consequently, so do all the people insisting that GW move their entire operation over to plastics, what a disaster that could be)

Every other manufacturer's kits have twice the detail of GW's at half the price. GW just aren't any good at making kits yet, despite 15 years practice. Even the Chinese and the Polish beat them hands down. To think that plastic model kits were invented in the UK!

Figure that one however you like.

I agree with that to a certain extent. I have recently ben buying a lot of Tamiya 1:35 tanks, and I am very impressed with the sprues. They seem a bit crisper and have slightly finer details. I suppose this is a combination of the sculpting and molding processes. I don't have a problem with GW vehicle kits though, they are usually fine, so this doesn't make much of a difference to me personally. However, the crews (and the 1:35 infantry sets I've looked at) are pretty awful. It's also the plastic infantry from GW that I don't like. I think that molding vehicles is very much a different kettle of fish than infantry. Yeah, Tamiya infantry are pretty much ancillary, so that may have something to do with it, but still, I don't much like a lot of plastic infantry that's being made these days, with plenty of exceptions.

Also, there's literally no mold lines on the Tamiya tank kits, which would probably strengthen your point about it being a GW problem rather than a plastic problem, but we are talking about GW kits here, so I don't want to see them producing any more plastics at the expense of metals. I prefer metal figures for most of my wargame armies (Ancients and ACW and stuff.)

The problem with GW armies is the weight and expense, also in the Tau army everything essential is available only in plastic now anyway. Fortunately they are some of the better GW kits. The Chaos Terminator in the above phot looks gak, full stop!....

I can't think of any kit I would rather see done in plastic, maybe resin (ala Forgeworld) but in GW plastic form...well, they've done enough if you ask me

2. A new form of Imperial vehicle chassis. an armoured car that could be an APC or light tank variant would be good.

3. Cadian special weapons and command (with catachan follow up would be wise).

4. A new Necron vehicle, smaller than the Monolith, a bit faster and about half the firepower, no troop 'transport' capability. They are badly in need of variety for that list. i wouldnt buy it but I think its a priority.

5. Rough riders.

In general I would be in favor of more fiddly bits on all the current plastic kits.

This is THE gothic sci-fi universe of our times. Represent. I wouldn't be surprised if they make a plastic Inquisitor in power armour box SOMEDAY with a nice assortment of doo-dads.

Plastic Warlocks, say a box of five. Considering they're still $12 CAN a pop I think most players would be happy with 5/$45 in whatever national denomination they happen to use, or maybe 4/$35. The minis are mostly just robes they don't have that much detail anyway. Make conversion work much much easier.

Plastic Harlies would have been nice, in the name of 'dynamic poses'.

Kraskins/Storm Troopers/Grenadiers altho I was looking at using Space Marine Scouts w/ Imperial Guard heads or non-GW heads.

That's all I myself would actually buy. Necrons could use plastic Immortals and Flayed Ones in the name of encouraging variety. Dark Eldar and Dark Elves. another thing I'd really like to see is new guard tanks.. an updated Chimera or Russ.. those tanks are both pretty old. I'd like to see em redone like the rhino was where you just have the main body and then upgrade sprues for other kinds of tanks.. so you'll have your russ body sprues. Then there can be separate sponson sprues with the different types of weapons. Then you can have a russ battle cannon turret sprue or a demolisher sprue, like a predator where you can build either one. Anyways, all of that aside, I agree plastic allows for easier conversions and flexibility. As someone who prefers building to painting, I love the plastic kits, even as I understand the diminished details. I am a fan of Marines first, and that particular arm(y/ies) ha(s/ve) been blessed with huge amount of plastic. But I still want more Power Armor, so I'll do a Top 5 Marine list, and a Top 5 non-Marine list.

Marines:
1) Deathwatch sprue - even more utilitarian, it could include mostly other chapters chestplates and shoulderpads (so a canny collector could build an IF/CF/Howling Griffons/etc army by trading with friends) along with some high tech gear and special (looking) weapons. Easy moneymaker, and it'd be nice to have some Salamander stuff (my second favorite Chapter). Or anything beyond the big five.

2) Marine Army HQ - a nice HQ sprue with options for a Terminator Captain/Chaplain/Librarian and a power armor C/Ch/L (or all 3/6).

3) Space Wolves - since this is my favorite army, it should be #1. But we'll actually get this within the next 18 months (hopefully), so no need to dwell on it. I'd like bearded heads, better Wolf-y accountrements, and some PIMP weapons.

4) Salamanders - see above. Why the heck not

They have some of the best iconography in the game. I'll definitely see #3, I'll possibly see #2, and #1 *might* happen to a lesser extent with the new mail order. This'll never happen, but we are dreaming here. Might as well reach for the stars.

5) Loyalist Jetbikes - the bog bikes are fugly. The Jetbike is not.

Non-Marines
1) Sisters of Battle

2) Daemon Prince (40K) - I'd love to see this. Or a FW version.

3) Ork Warboss, with ALL of the options

4) Necron Harvester - remember that concept art??

5) Harlequins, as Kyoto recommended...ball joints for the winzzzzz.

3. "Weapons Packs" for every race: A sprue or set of sprues for each race that has a couple of each ranged weapon that race has.

4. A necron walker, something around the size of Dreadnought.

You are wrong, because you have legally violated the copyright inherent in the picture, which belongs to the shooter and/or the sculptor.

No-one would have minded you borrowing a picture to illustrate a point if you had given a credit. That's fair use.

Without a credit the natural assumption is that the figure and photo is yours. Dakka is somewhere people go to show off their modelling and photo skills. It goes against the grain to effectively pass off someone else's work as your own.

It is also petty and unpleasant to retort to the justified complainant "Thanks for putting it in the public domain". A simple apology would have settled things with dignity for all.

Every posted image has the properties available by right clicking, so the source is automatically specified. As long as no one is passing off someone else's work as their own there's really no call to do much of anything. I use other people's images all the time, people use mine, it's like hanging a banner outside your house and not expecting people to photograph it.

On the requests - the Imperial citizens/gang/laborers idea has been around forever for Necro, or retinues or conscripts or whatever. It would just be neat.

In addition to my previous kit requests, I would like to see some kind of detailing kits that could be used for adding bits to vehicles or buildings. Each faction could have one with typical icons -- Imperium would be skulls, Chaos would be spikey skulls, Eldar would be Celtic runes, and so on. This would make it easy to scratch build and adapt stuff and fit it in with the official kits.

In all honesty, every girl I know would be more interested in more "female" models. Basically it comes down to this: We are drawn to images of our ideal human, generally along the lines of strong, intelligent, good looking, capable. Not that it isn't fun to play the opposite (gretchen and Nurgle boys are fun), but generally we tend to sympathize most with what we consider to be ideals we would like to see ourselves as.

I was thinking another good plastic "kit" would be an inquisitorial retinue accessories box. Maybe not specific models, but parts and gear like power stakes, big books, random torsoes for Crusaders/servitors, and that sort of thing. It is sort of troublesome to track down bitz to make all of them, other than going to WarStore for Battlewagon or something.

Honestly, I think most of the demi-specialized armies should get a kit like that. Maybe they do... I just want one for my inquisitors.

I would be quite happy if GW would take a good long hard look at just how the molds manage to turn out misaligned parts, and then FIX IT.

By misaligned, I mean ones where there's a stairstep in a surface that should be flat, not just the normal flash.

On the subject , i was a metal snob for along time and resisted up until the launch of the black templars which i love to bits, People compare GW molds to other companies who produce models , but really you should be comparing GW plastics to other wargame plastics.Tamiya ,revell and airfix models dont have to get slung around a wargames board every weekend ,they get painted and put on display in glass cabinets , if GW used the same plastic and detail level you would be on here moaning that your very delicate detailed model had snapped again.

I do not agree with the whole, "metal is better detail" bit. I think that previous metal models were just more involved sculpts. I generally hate working metal figs for the hours of flash removal, fileing and uneven course surfaces.
