Question is in the title, I guess I'll start...

Goblin Big Boss on wolf with brimstone bauble and one hit wunda
chariot hunting suicide bomber, also nifty for heavy cav coming in at 91 points!

In theory? Clan Eshin Master Assassin - fellblade, talisman of protection, smoke bombs

In game? Dwarf Demon Slayer - vampireslayer, killing blow, master rune of swiftness, rune of fury, rune of cleaving

Most hated? JSOD

The popemobile with speculum is pretty irritating too, and I can wait to see all the nasty nasty vampires that hit in a couple months. More M9 characters FTL

Since i own the new vampire counts book this lord is sick
first is a magic lord and second is a combat lord

Vampire lord
lvl 3
Master of the black arts +2 powerdice usuable only by him
dark acoylte +1 magic lvl
scepter noirot when casting the raise dead spell raise d3+9 zombies
crown of the damned 4+ward save and stupidity
lord of the undead - may raise Ghouls with the Invocation of nehek spell
total = 405pts

or for a combat lord theres

vampire lord
lvl 3
Dread Lance - Counts as a lance with all attacks hitting automatically
wristbands of black gold - 3+ ward vs shooting attacks
Red fury - for each succesful wound cause make an additional attack, like knightly temper
master of the black arts - same as above
Abyssal Specter - griffon for vampire counts
total = 560pts

wow, that combat lord is awesome. whats his strength on the charge, like 5-6? he already atuo hits and will probably wound, so against a unit of toughness 3 he could roll through the entire damn thing. ><

I'm sure he's S7 on the charge. And auto-hits? On an undead griffon?? And each 2+ you roll to wound = more auto-hits???

The mind boggles, and the bladder empties

I hear you'll be able to take a vamp with 2+ save, 4+ ward, 4+ regen, 2+ carstein ring ...

uh, what do you kill it with? it would be hard to divert or tie up because it can fly and it is hard to kill because of all those nasty saves and regen. cannons? 4 bolt throwers perhaps?

but if someone decided to field that, it would be time for the good old 20 fanatic minefield.

Probably a couple of Dwarven bolt throwers, with the flaming rune and 2+ to hit vs flying creatures rune would bring him down a notch or two.

I've got one for the vampire, ogre tyrant with spangleshard and tenderiser. the spangleshard allows him to ignore wounds and the tenderiser is d3 wounds and a great weapon.

Scar Vet - GW, LA, Shield, Jaguar Charm

That's the budget build, just over 110 points. Add spawnings or items for additional cheddar.

I hate it because I see it in every lizard build, and it's so undercosted for the sheer power of 4 S7 attaks wherever you want them.

I don't really like the ubiquitous alter noble build either, and I'm sure I'll loathe the M9 vamp builds as well. But that's just me

Savage Orc Boss - pigstikka, boar chariot (other kit too, probably kicking boots or something)
The famous "OMF THE ATTAKS!" build. Get boss attaks + 1 frenzy + enemy rank in attaks + D6+1 impacts + boars + 2 frenzy for boars ... And all at S5.

Black Orc BSB - warbanner, ha, boar chariot
Nice and simple, and pretty capable of real mayhem. Can Waaagh!, gets some very solid attaks, and gets +2 CR on top of that.

Goblin Boss - the wunda, brimstone bobble, wolf chariot
Zip in, trash somebody good, get impacts, then detonate when the goblin bites it. Alternatively put on wolf for cheapness and consealability. Or alternatively make it a shaman with maybe a scroll, the bobble and chariot. Burn the scroll, zip in, crunch things and go boom.

wow, i like the shaman scroll caddy that explodes.

how many attacks does that boss get? up to 7 on the boss, 7 impact, like 4 for the boars.
18 str 5 attacks? aaaaaah!

Ok. This is the best hero hunter I use - it does numbers on most enemy generals.

Bret Lord

Virtue of the ideal (+2 WS, +1 I, +1 A, can not be general)
Sword of Heroes(+1 S against T5+, etc, and all unsaved wounds turn into D3 wounds)
Gromil Helm (+1 save, reroll all saves)
Grail Vow (Immune to Psycology)
Lance and Heavy Armor/Shield

Then you put it on a Pegasus, allowing it a +1 armor save, to give it a WS8 5 attack guy who is S5 against most other lords etc, causes D3 wounds per wound inflicted, moved 20" around, I7 and S6 on the charge if so wished.

If the enemy general/wizard/hero/slann is in a big unit, then the following combo is more useful

Bret Lord

Virtue of Confidence (must always issue/accept challanges, reroll to hit/wound in challanges)
Sword of Heroes(+1 S against T5+, etc, and all unsaved wounds turn into D3 wounds)
Gromil Helm (+1 save, reroll all saves)
Gauntlets of the Duel (enemy must always accept challenges)
Grail Vow (Immune to Psycology)
Lance and Heavy Armor/Shield
Pegasus.

So you are rerolling to hit and to wound in a challenge, any wounds cause D3 wounds usually at +1S, your challenge has to be accepted, you reroll all your 2+ armor saves as well as the 5+ ward from blessing.

Something to keep in mind, don't you have to use a magic weapon if you have one? So the lance can never be used in those 2 builds, just wasted points.

My orc warboss is something like:
Orc Warboss, light armour and a shield.
Battleaxe of the Last Waaaaaagh!
He goes in a unit of 24 big uns with two choppas and the banner of gork, and waaaagh's automatically 2D6+8" forward. With a wee bit of luck, you can get the drop on pretty much anything, including brettonian knights, and the boss's insane number of high strength attacks coupled with the unit's S5 barrage can see off just about anything. I've only ever seen them bounce once, and that was off of a unit of high elf spearmen on a hill with a bunch of characters and a BSB.
My hero is generally a BSB with the idol of mork in a unit of 24 orcs with shields. Then I like a Boss on a chariot with a nice big axe and bigged's ed kicking boots for some attacking goodness. Porko's pigstikka might be an idea, but that generally goes on my final hero, who leads a unit of Boarboys. No namby pamby magic uses for me!

I think these are what im gonna run sub 2k

Savage Orc Big Boss- Porco’s Pig Stikka, Chariot, Bigged’s Kickin’ Boots

Black Orc Big Boss- ‘eavy armor, shield, Martog’s Best Basha

Goblin Shaman- 2x Dispel Scrolls, Brimstone Bauble

I might drop the goblin shaman for the mork's spirit totem bsb on a black orc.

No, the lance is the only mundane weapon allowed to be chosen to be used if the character has a magical weapon. So you can gain the +1S on the charge if so wished. Its in the BRB, I'm pretty sure.

My bad. It is page 60 of the Bretonnian book -

'Bret characters equiped with a normal lance and magical weapon will always use their lance when charging and then use the magic weapon in subsequent rounds. A character with a magical lance will always use it'

Hopefully that makes sense.

I am very partial to an Exalted Sorcerer with either the MoS or MoN mounted with the Daemon Sword. Put him in a unit of chosen knights and you have a solid warrior/mage and hammer unit.

Yeah, my bad on that one. I discovered that a while after posting, not being a bret player myself.

That is a good one, saw a sorceress with MoS + demon sword tear $H!7 up recently.

My warboss above got pasted by a Van Horstman's Speculum wielding Lore of Beasts wizard who bear's angered up and then swapped our stats last night. Warboss paste. Not fun! Turned the game around for him actually, and brought us to a close draw when we had to finish early.

Run something ike a Shaggoth or Treeman into him. If he can't challenge than he can't swap stats.

Also something with killing blow would do nice.

I'm pretty unsure on what the popemobile actually does, but I'm guessing basically a chariot? Maybe some ward saves against shooting or something? Reading tourny reports I see the archlector + VHS + popemobile seems to be the Empire standard now.

Yeah, it is becoming that way, I think I saw one wreck a treeman, it was pretty bad.

It was a bit of an odd game. My opponent had maxed out on magic (Wizard Lord, 2 Level 2s and a Priest) whereas I had none, and was relying on the Idol of Mork to give me dispel dice.

I won't fall for that again, next time he can say hello to Billiam the Big, my Giant. Poor old Bill took a cannonball to the belly last night though, so he never made combat.
