I want to start a slaanesh army. So im planning it would be demons and hordes mixed. I chose slaanesh for their good magic and immune to psychology and i really like the steeds of slaanesh. Ive already purchased some chaos warriors and a slaanesh champion.

What is some effective tactic to use with slaanesh. I played VC but decided to switch since the new book was coming out and i like playing armies that a lot of people dont play. At my shop alone 5 people are going to start VC so i decided to change and keep some variety.

I like to play aggressive and i was wondering what units would be good to field . I know to use chaos knights. It just that im going into this slaanesh army hoping for the best. Can anyone provide some insight on successful tactics or some "rules of thumb" while playing with slaanesh. Thanks in advance for the help, and my all your rules be 's

Most importantally, the demon rules change and you probably will not be able to mix the two. Just warning you.

Ideas for mortal slaanesh:
You get immune to psycology (no panicing, no fleeing from charges)
And the best spell lore in the game.
A really cool banner in one squad.

Your best bet is to maximize the casting power you have because your spell lore allows your army to function better (as opposed to tzench which tries to kill stuff).

If you have chosen knights with the slanesh banner they will laugh at almost anything, including charging lances made up of knights of the realm.

Use lots of warhounds to screen your knights and setup charges.

Chaos warriors are pretty overpriced. They can be used effectively but it is hard and requires good knowledge of the movement and charge rules.

Chaos Lord - MoS, blade of blood, pendant of slaanesh, shield, barded steed

The blade gives her a possible +1W for every wound she causes in combat (up to double), and the pendant gives her +1A (permanently) for every wound she suffers. The lordette got up to 10 attaks in the batrep I read

Exalted Sorcerer - MoS, demon sword, barded steed = 369

Exalted Champ - MoS, rending sword, enchanted shield, boobworm = 210

Exalted Champ - MoS, greatfang, shield, boobworm = 212

Last two run in concert are especially where it's at. Render challenges champ out and racks up CR, meanwhile greatfang goes ape and slices through armored troops. Demon sword sorcerer (who you could make level 4, of course) goes from being an armored 2 attak model on horse to WS9 S6 I10 A6! Just don't roll any 1's

Also im going to run the exalted sorcerer on a mount with the chaos daemon sword and spell familiar so he can use almost any spell at his disposal.

Also im going to run one more sorcerer level 2 and the 2 exalted champion.

The Hordes characters can use the items from the Beast of Chaos book also unless they are beast only (and vice versa). The Great Fang is from there. I made a list using the exalted sorceress and two exalted champs, and I like it a lot but am bothered by the 833 points in characters

L: Exalted Sorceress - MoS, chaos demon sword, talisman of protection, lvl 4, barded steed = 419
H: Exalted Champion - MoS, greatfang, shield, boobworm = 212
H: Exalted Champion - MoS, rending sword, shield, boobworm = 202

C: 5 Chosen Knights - MoS, rapturous standard, musician = 325
C: 25 Marauders - light armor, shields, standard, musician = 190
C: 25 Marauders - light armor, shields, standard, musician = 190
C: 5 Marauder Horsemen - flails, musician = 81
C: 5 Marauder Horsemen - flails, musician = 81

S: 5 Mounted Demonettes = 150

R: 2 Fiends of Slaanesh = 150

Total: 2000 points
75 models

Not a real wonderful list, and the magic is QUITE weak with just the lvl 4 doing everything, but I wouldn't mind running it if I had the models. I'd like to fit a lvl 2 sorcerer in there somewhere, with at least 1 scroll, but I think one of the exalted champs would need to leave for me to feel good about that. I suppose the render is slightly more useful, with the mutliwound weapon being an excellent thing in general.

One thing to remember is that at least the current Slaneesh magic is supportive in nature as it pulls stuff to favorable positions and makes you win combats more easily with the important spells. You'll need some good combat troops to capitalize these feats. Also the lvl2 mages of slaneesh suffer a lot if you roll poorly for spells as they have trouble casting the big spells, so taking only one smaller mage with spell familiar and fulfilling the rest with combat characters or non-slaneesh casters sounds better to me.]]> http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/preList/208238/254758.page http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/preList/208238/254758.page GMT
