Quick Dedicated Transport Question

Let me know if any of these assumptions are wrong:

1. Troops with a dedicated transport can be placed outside of the dedicated transport upon deployment. (i've seen eldar & marines do this so I assume this is ok)
2. The Troops and the dedicated transport do not need to be within 2" of each other. In other words, if I were to deploy a troop unit of shoota boyz in a trukk. Could I place my trukk on the far left side of the table and place my 12 shoota boyz on the far right? As long as I put down both together, do the boyz need to be able to embark on the first turn or can they be on opposite sides of the table?

Thanks

Quick Dedicated Transport Question

1: true, you may deploy the models in the transport if you wish but you do not have to.

2: again true, if you choose to deploy the transported unit on foot then the transport does not have to be within any distance of the unit it is dedicated to.

3: not asked but could easilly come upp, the only model that may board a dedicated transport that is not dedicated to the unit the model belongs to is an IC and then only if the IC has joined the unit the transport is dedicated to.

Re:Quick Dedicated Transport Question

very helpful thanks. I am getting a new trukk model and although I do not have it in possession yet, it appears to be significantly bigger than my other trukks (low rider 3rd edition). Is it going to be considered cheesy/beardy (whatever you want to call it) if I use the empty new trukk to block LOS to my other trukks. I was going to leave my squad of shoota boyz around my Big Mek w/Shokkk Attack gun so he can't be targeted.

Quick Dedicated Transport Question

Cheezy/beardy?

You are using an official GW model as intended.

If you had scratch built a trukk like GW have encouraged us ork players to do and then intentionally designed it to work as a block LOS model then it would have been cheesy/beardy, not simply using the official GW models that are out in the most benefitial way you can.
