				<title>First 1000pt Eldar Army</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ OK, so this my first attempt at a real army.  I have only played with my brother until now who started the same time as I.  Until now its just been the battleforce units we have plus some that we bought afterwards cause they looked cool.  So this is my first attempt at a cohesive army. I also have some additional questions that someone might be able to answer:<br /> <br /> Does the Wave Serpent have to be connected to a single infantry unit?  Can it be used with any units on the table?<br /> <br /> What are the advantage/ disadvantages of having two 5 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(25);'>DA</span> units or one 10 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(25);'>DA</span> unit? 				<description><![CDATA[ Sadly, Harlies cannot be given a Wave Serpent. Look at their entry and you'll see that the option isn't there. You'll have to fix that somehow before I can give further advice.<br /> <br /> A unit can only move in the assault phase when not assaulting (or consolidating, sweeping, etc.) if a specific rule allows it. Eldar jetbikes (note: a Vyper is not a jetbike, but a vehicle; "Eldar jetbike" refers to the unit type specified in the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(12);'>BGB</span>)  can, for instance, but Guardians cannot.<br /> <br /> What is it about VoT that you don't understand? Basically, it makes anything that wants to shoot at you pass a test first; if they fail, they don't get to shoot that turn.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Problem with trying to assault from a Serpent is you have to spend a turn parked. A Falcon can survive that, but a Serpent often can't, and then your expensive assault squad is entangled and screwed.<br /> <br /> They mean to see the info on Warlock powers regarding "always on" psychic powers. 				<description><![CDATA[ tegeus is giving sound advice, but as heres a few things to remember when playing eldar in general,<br /> <br /> falcons=delivered squads<br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(464);'>FD</span> make great riders, 12" move on the falcon, deployment and 6" melta means dead tanks or squads of high points, low model count units. <br /> <br /> if you are not running the harle's behind the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(227);'>WL</span>'s, they should be in a falcon, or 10 man strong. although the spotting distance is great, when something sees them, and shoots them, they die. <br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(25);'>DA</span> are great as long as you dont expect too much from them. in large squads they can lay the hurting on most troops, but in smaller squads their effectivness really drops off quick.<br /> <br /> if you are running <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(227);'>WL</span>'s as true tank hunters, a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(461);'>EML</span> and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(327);'>BL</span> are your only choice. no twin linked stuff, its just not worth the points on a model that is BS4. also, if you do want to keep both farseers in, give each one fortune, guide, and spirit stones and park all 4 of them in good cover for one of the hardest groups in the game to kill.<br /> <br /> or what i do is run a small to mid size squad of guardians with a warlock and upgrade him to a spiritseer. he then has 12" to move around the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(227);'>WL</span>'s and have the guardian squad shoot things with the weapon platform. this allows your farseers to be more usefull, or to put them on a bike and make a mess of things for your enemy. <br /> <br /> it really seems like you are more catered for a "walking" eldar army, which i think is one of the funnest (its a word!!) ways to play eldar, and if thats the case, you need bigger squads of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(25);'>DA</span>. if you lose 3 guys, they are not scoring and not really doing anything for the rest of the game.  <br /> <br /> also one of the biggest things eldar have for them is the crazy amount of str6 shots they can lay out. scatter lasers and shruiken cannons can be very good if amassed in numbers. <br /> <br /> oh and if you have never heard this, no eldar skimmer should ever touch the field without spirit stones and if a falcon, stones and holo-fields. <br /> <br /> movement=alive skimmers. <br /> <br /> oh and it doesnt really take a skimmer to park for a turn for assault guys to get the jump on an enemy. falcon moves 12" next to a squad. next turn the harles hop out, assault the squad and the falcon moves off, no extra sitting around required!  <br /> <br /> heres an army that i think would be cool for you, <br /> <br /> farseer\guide\fortune\spirit stones\stones of warding<br /> 10 dire avengers\exarch\bladestorm\2x catapults<br /> 9 dire avengers\exarch\bladestorm\2x catapults<br /> 2x vibro cannons<br /> WraithLord-<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(461);'>EML</span>\<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(327);'>BL</span><br /> falcon-s. stones\holofields\s. cannonx2<br /> 6x harlequins-5x H. kiss's<br /> <br /> that brings you to 977, or 877 if you drop the vibro cannons out.<br /> <br /> <br /> only 1 farseer\ wraithlord combo because with the re-roll, vibro cannons and the 2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>str</span> 8 falcon shots, you should be able to handle most armor at 1000pts. also getting rear armor with 6 str6 shots from the fast falcon will be killer vs other skimmers\ rear armor 10 vehicles. march the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(25);'>DA</span>  relativley close so they can focus fire, and the vibro cannons are amazing in smaller games. remember they go through terrain, so they can be completly out of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(85);'>LOS</span> and still get shots off.]]></description>

So if I understand correctly...<br /> <br /> The Wave Serpent can only transport those units which specifically mention they can be transported by the Wave Serpent and they must be linked to it in order to use it as a transport.  On the other hand, the Falcon can transport any squad with up to 6 infantry units.<br /> <br /> Is this correct? ]]></description>
