				<title>500pt Chaos Space Marine Army List</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Ok. This is my first attempt at a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(22);'>CSM</span> list. I want to test it out before i go and buy the models for it.<br />  Please tell me if i can make any improvements to it.<br /> <br /> Choas Space Marine Lord.<br /> Terminator Armour, Power Weapon and Combi-Plasma Gun 125pts<br /> <br /> 2 X 5 Man <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(22);'>CSM</span> squads. <br /> Both have Aspiring Champions and Plasma guns. <br /> 105pts each 210pts for both<br /> <br /> 5 Man Havoc Squad with 2X Heavy Bolter, Autocannon and Missile launcher<br /> Aspiring Champion<br /> 165pts<br /> <br /> Please rate and see if my army can be improved. 				<description><![CDATA[ The Lord is pointless. If you must have an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> in Termie armour despite its inherent weakness, take a Sorc. Termie Sorcs can get powers like Lash or <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(800);'>BoC</span> or Doombolt off fine enough, but the Lord will struggle to get where he needs to be (that is, into <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span>). If you want a Lord, you have to make him mobile if he's to be effective. Of course, a winged <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(262);'>DP</span> is still the most cost-effective choice if you don't mind using the same thing as everyone else.<br /> <br /> What's the point of taking an Asp Champ if you're not going to give him a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>PF</span>? He serves no other purpose in those squads.<br /> <br /> Your Havoc squad is kind of messed up. Mixing <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(59);'>HWs</span> is not a great idea.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I'll second the need for a winged <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(262);'>DP</span>. In the low points bracket of 500 and 800 your not really going to need plasma guns. They are kind of a waste. Most of your points allocation would be better spent on more troops. I play a lot of 500 points with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(22);'>CSM</span> and I'm usually outnumbered. The numbers will help out and in the low points brackets they are good troops. As for the havoc squad, I'd say leave them, but with all heavy bolters. They will be able to use their high rate of fire to 'outnumber' the enemy. The <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(51);'>HBs</span> are one of the better options for Havocs. If you want the havocs to be busting tanks at low points, I'd say scrap that idea and go with two Obliterators. They will do the job much better and be able to fight numbers aswell.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Right ok thank you. I took your advice into accout and i decided to remove all of the plasma guns and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(5);'>AC</span>. And add 2 more men to each squad. I also changed the Havocs <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(59);'>HW</span> into just <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(51);'>HB</span>. However i don't want to have a Daemon Prince as my commander (Call me dumb or call me different) so i now have 155pts for a Commander. As of yet i am not sure what i want however. But thanks for the advice with my combat squads and Havocs.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ If you aren't going to do a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(262);'>DP</span> as your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> I'd suggest a Chaos Sorcerer. There are a lot of options if you want to fill the entire 155 points with him. I'd suggest Tzeentch but I feel you'd be being robbed by circumstance as the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(102);'>MoT</span> is 10 points more expensive on Chaos Sorcs than it is on <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(262);'>DPs</span>. So I'd say go with a Chaos Sorc in Terminator armor with the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(101);'>MoS</span> and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(85);'>LoS</span>. The <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(41);'>Fzorgle</span> will give you some good options to manipulate your opponents troops away from you or toward you depending on what you need to get done. The Force weapon on the Sorc will help out in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> when you can't use the Lash. And it also fits him nicely in those 155 points you have open.<br /> <br />  There are other configurations you could go with, like 2 more <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(22);'>CSM</span> and have a basic Chaos Sorc with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(101);'>MoS</span> and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(85);'>LoS</span>. I think I like this option best personally because of the numbers issue. The <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(22);'>CSM</span> will be making their morales pretty fast if you don't have the numbers to support themselves in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span>.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I have to disagree on the plasma guns. Typeline, how do you figure they aren't needed at 500 pts? They're worthwhile against any <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(95);'>MEq</span> army (ask yourself this: if this army were playing against a clone of itself, would it be deadlier losing two Marines for two plasma guns or not?). They're also insurance in the event that your opponent brings a medium tank or an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>MC</span>.<br /> <br /> I would suggest dropping two <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(22);'>CSMs</span> from each squad, adding one plasma gun to each, and adding two Havocs to the Havoc squad.<br /> <br /> Slightly <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(415);'>OT</span> suggestion: I would try magnetising the backpack on the Sorc. At higher points values, it'll be worth giving him a jump pack, so being able to swap it in on the model will be handy.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I would have to admit that looking over the list i would have problems as you say against two things. <br /> A)The maximun armour value i can actully damage is 11. A 6 off a heavy bolter which also means that for at least 1 turn i cant actully use the heavy bolters on infantry.<br /> B)I have problems against Armour saves of 3 and 2 so i'm weak against <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(95);'>MEq</span>.<br /> So what if i just take 1 man from each squad and replace him with a plasma gun? I wont give the Sorcerer jump pack or wings. As i wouldnt be able to save the 20pts needed without losing more men. Should i remove 2 more men to increase the number of Havocs to 7 and give them more red coats?<br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I see what your saying about Plasma Guns. In my meta I don't often run into <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(95);'>MEq</span> though. No one plays Marines so I guess I loose sight of that match up sometimes. One guy plays Necrons but I haven't had trouble against him after a few games. But I think if your going to be going up against more <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(95);'>MEq</span> than Xenos you should go for the plasmaguns. But I don't think those squads will fair well in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span>, so keep that in mind.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I took the plasma guns. At my club we have a necron player, ork player, Blood Angels player and a normal marine player, but even my 500 nids can beat his 800 pt army. I think they wont do well in combat but thats what the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(41);'>Fzorgle</span> is for. Say goodbye <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> marines go back a few inches while i shoot you.]]></description>
