1500 Eldar

I was looking at a slightly different army to start using for 5th Ed when it comes out.
1500 Eldar

What's Eldrad for? Typically, the reason to use him is if you have two important units to Fortune, since he's the only guy who can use the same power twice. He doesn't really have a logical place in the army - I'd save points (especially at 1500) and use a regular farseer.

I'm skeptical of a small infiltrating Scorpion unit. I would drop them and boost the Banshees to 10. Neither Scorps nor Banshees are good in small units. Even with Scorpion armor, Eldar are fragile. They don't do well with small units because they simply have no staying power.

Fire Dragons are the exception, of course. You never need more than 6 fire dragons. But you also never need an exarch. Get rid of him, he's a waste of points, especially with a firepike. The firepike is completely pointless. The benefit you get from that Exarch is mathematically insignificant.

I would also try and put the 2nd Avengers unit up to 10. 5 DAs isn't going to survive very easily, and it's not going to do that much damage.

Finally, I don't think a lonesome Wraithlord is a good idea. I've tried it, and they're just plain lousy firing platforms. They pay a huge premium for being tough, but if there's just one of them they'll eat so much fire that they'll die anyway. A grav tank is a better idea. Wraithlords are good in duos or trios as part of an advancing force, because that's where their strength, toughness, and firepower all matter. If they stay in the back, only their firepower matters, and it's not that significant.

He just doesn't seem like he has a place. What was your plan for him?

I'm skeptical of a small infiltrating Scorpion unit. I wouldn't ever field a hand to hand unit from any army with less than 8 members in it (some nid options being the only exception to this). In either case, figure out which one you want and use a big unit of them in a wave serpent.

You never need more than 6 fire dragons. He's just a point sink.

Finally, I don't think a lonesome Wraithlord is a good idea. I've tried it, and they're just plain lousy firing platforms. A lone dreadnaught can be fine but you need to be a bit cautious with him since he'll be a target for long range anti tank fire. One thing you will want to do is give him a second weapon. For the price you've already payed, its silly to not take advangate of the only BS4 heavy weapon platform in the army by only giving it half the weapons it could have.

One other small point. I would swap the weapons you have on your wave serpents. Give anti troop weapons (scatter lasers) to the fire dragon wave serpent (the dragons are going to take care of the tanks anyway right?) and then give anti tank weapons to the banshee wave serpent (since the banshees are going to kill off any near by troops right?). It also means that should your fire dragon wave serpent get downed early (and your dragons are left for dead walking for the rest of the game) that you don't lose all your anti tank power in one go.

Re:1500 Eldar

Here are a few things I think would help you out.

1). Banshees are fine but need numbers. Take 10 in a Serphent. Drop the Scatter Lasers and just give it a Shuriken Cannon. It's chaper and you only loose 1 shot. You gave the Wave Serphent Star Engines so I expect you'll rush across the board to any unit you want to assault the next turn. After you drop your pay load, the Serphent really has no use. Sure, you could waste the points to keep it a moble platform, but it's only 90pts plus upgrades... Why bother?

2). Scorpions are really cool. I love the models, fluff, wargear, ect... But, and this is the big but, they dont fleet, are still T3, and get shot at just as much as anyone else. I've tryed using them in list but I have yet to find a way to use them. I would drop them. Points used else where

3). Avengers sound fun. I was working on a list that had them. Big problem. They die. End of story. Drop them. You have to units of Pathfinders. Stick with them. With troops being the only units that can capture objectives, these are your best bets.

4). The Wraithlord is very out of place. Your army looks like you built it for speed, but at the end is a very slow MC. You cant run if you shoot, and you cant shoot if you run. If you want to fill the same role, add a Falcon, or better yet, maybe 2.

The HQ is really up to you, but I would just stick to a Farseer.
