				<title>Rough Riders and lances...</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ I'm considering using lances and when I read the rules, it states that once you use them you can't use them again...does that mean for that assault, or for the whole entire game?  It doesn't make sense if it were for the whole entire games, because they just traded in their <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(20);'>ccw</span> for the lances and would spend the rest of the game fighting with a stick.  It would seem they would rearm the lances before charging into another round of combat....but then again, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span> doesn't always make sense...<br /> <br /> Thanks! <img src="/s/i/a/cdb8a0f97be9f0014a560fed92c81cad.gif" border="0">]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Thanks for the quick replies!  <br /> <br /> Hmm, that's was I was afraid of...a one-trick pony.  At least rough riders are cheap as are the lances.  If I do decide to use them, it'll be against tough units, like termies.  S5 I5 power weapon isn't too bad, and they would still get 2 attacks on the charge, right?  With the exception of the Vet Sgt who would get 3.  Though I might equip him differently.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(271);'>RR</span> are the one unit in a Guard army that can make up thier points value in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span>. Point them at an expensive squad and watch them gut them. Just make sure that squad is I5 or lower.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I have a small Vostroyan list that I use for Apocalypse games (along with my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(10);'>BA</span>).  It consists of 1 three-squad platoon, a unit of hardend vets, commissar, and techpriest (usually in a Gorgon or a similarly large transport) escorted by a Baneblade, Leman Russ tank squad, 2 units of Sentinels, and a Basilisk.  The squad is normally used to hold a flank or cover a very important objective while my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(10);'>BA</span> drop in behind the enemy (which is usually my plan, though not all the time).<br /> <br /> In bigger games, I'll let loose my Legio Titanicus (still deciding on Victorum or Ignatum) and let loose my Warhound and Reaver (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(277);'>oop</span> Armorcast) along with the Inquisition (Grey Knights and Sisters)]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ It's funny you mentioned that link.  Yes, that is what started giving me the idea of Vostroyan <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(271);'>RR</span>...sort of a WW2 Cossak feel.<br /> <br /> After I read Rebel Winter, I started looking into Vostroyans.  Their doctrines had a good start, but I changed mine because I didn't feel <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span> stuck with the fluff.  <br /> <br /> For instance, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span> suggests the following:<br /> Restricted Troops: Special Weapon squads <br /> Restricted Troops: Heavy Weapon platoons <br /> Sharpshooters <br /> Carapace armour <br /> Hardened Fighters <br /> <br /> Because they're a Techtriarch, with a mix of Mechanicus, I felt Techpriests should definitely be there.  Because I'm making them more artillery and tank-based, the Heavy Weapon Plt could go.  <br /> <br /> Story line:  They're the only remaining platoon left of IX Co, 241st Reg.  The 241st sent several companies to stem the ork tide, but eventually got ran over with the exception of the IX.  The Blood Angels 5th Co, who were en route to Medusa, responded to a distress call about an Ork Invasion and eventually rescued the Plt.  They both fought side by side and killed the Warboss sending the Waagh in total dissarray.  After the Ordo Xenos arrived with reinforcements, the Blood Angels volunteered to take the Plt with them on their way through the Segmentum Obscurus and meet up with the Vostroyan command, either at Vostroya, or Medusa.  However, due to the non-stop conflicts in space, they've had to stop and assist, with the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(10);'>BA</span> admiring the spirit of the IX Co.<br /> <br /> So, since I don't have a Command Plt, the Special Weapons squads could go, in lieu of Rough Riders.  I almost considered Ogryns, but didn't think they fit into the "winter" feel of the list.  Plus I'd go through quite a bit of green stuff to equip them with cloaks and furs.  But I'm still considering <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(271);'>RR</span>...not sure how far I want to go with them.]]></description>
