				<title>Help with 1k nid build please.</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Im just starting at tyranids. I bought the new released assault brood with an extra tyrant and gaunt box so i think i already have a strong core army.<br /> Having done some research, peeking at others people's lists and tactica. Ive come up with the following global list.<br /> The upcoming local tournament is 1000 pts.<br /> <br /> Winged Hive Tyrant with 2 Scythes, Warp field, Adrenal glands and toxin sacs. <br /> 182 points.<br /> <br /> 3 Warriors with Leaping, twin scythes, carapace. <br /> 99 pts.<br /> <br /> 8 Genestealers with extended carapace or extra talons. Feeder tendrils.<br /> 168 pts.<br /> <br /> 2x a large unit of 20 ish spinegaunts <br /> 100 pts each<br /> <br /> 2x Gunfex with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(138);'>VC</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>BS</span>, Carapace, Enhanced Senses<br /> 173 each<br /> <br /> Totals 995 so i got 5 points left for something extra. If i cant find anything , i can add a gaunt.<br /> <br /> Would this build work?<br /> it has 3 troops choises wich should be enough for capturing objectives<br /> Should i split up the gaunts in smaller units?<br /> <br /> Please advise!]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ you dont need extended carapace on anything. with the new cover and screening rules in 5th everything gets a 4+ Cover save for free.<br /> <br /> give the genestealers scuttlers instead. it means you can get start closer to your enemy or come on from the sides. very nasty.<br /> <br /> your warriors you can screen behind the gaunts so they dont need carapace against shooting. the the points to give them rending claws and adrenal glands (I) so they dont need it in combat either.<br /> <br /> your fex is fine, but again loose the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(32);'>EC</span>.<br /> <br /> its ok for 1000pts.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ <br /> Your Carnifexes should have the carapace but your genestealers not.. it makes them very expensive and most armies have a few heavy bolters with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>ap</span> 4... either screen your genestealers with gaunts to get 4+ cover save or use the points for more genestealers...<br /> <br /> I would give your winged hive tyrant devourers... deepstrike him at your enemies flank and shoot the crap out of them! ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ the stuff that will be shooting at a fex will be mostly plasma\lascannon or the like. against that a 2+ save does squat against that. if anyone concentrates small arms fire againt your long range fex they are fools that will be overrun by your hordes of gaunts and stealers (not to mention your tyrant).]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ a 2+ save is good against small arms fire and all other non-ap2 weapons.<br /> <br /> Missle launchers<br /> Thousand sons bolters.<br /> battle cannons.<br /> heavy stubbers/heavy bolters (think about tanks with twin linked lascannon AND heavy bolters)<br /> bolter shots from the 5 tactical marines with 1 lascannon.<br /> Ork Loota's<br /> <br /> etc. etc.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I bet adrenal glands will be more effective then. As i wont be attacking beefy units with the warriors. <br /> But with I5 they strike before most non elite troops. Marines, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span>, Sissies of battle, deamons, orks, tau, necrons and Forcing a roll-off against most (dark)eldar.<br /> <br /> I bet striking before the enemy will be a better defense then improving my save with 1. <br /> <br /> 12 (16 on charge) attacks with rending will even kill 1 or 2 termies atleast. <br /> <br /> You know what they say: "They best defence, is the offence" or sumthing like that..<br /> ]]></description>
