				<description><![CDATA[ Okay, so I haven't played in a dog's age and I've got no idea when the next time I'll be playing would be (far more important stuff on the brain lately... ).  But in case I get a chance to play over the next 4 years I thought I'd have a shot at the new list.<br /> <br /> It does sadden me greatly to have lost the flexabillity of being able to mix mortals and beasts - I think the pick and choose style of chaos was... well... quite chaotic and gave the player the ability to make some really nice lists.  Maybe too nice...  I dunno, but this is what I finally came up with after pouring over the temp list:<br /> <br /> <u>Heroes:</u> 745 points<br /> Exalted Champ (Mark of Slannesh, Demonic Mount, Sword of Might, Armor of Damnation, Shield)<br /> Aspiring Champ (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(101);'>MoS</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span>, Banner of the Gods, Shield)<br /> Lv 1 Sorceror (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(101);'>MoS</span>, x2 D-scrolls)<br /> Lv 1 Sorceror (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(101);'>MoS</span>, x2 D-scrolls)<br /> <br /> <u>Core:</u> 795 points<br /> x10 Warriors (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(101);'>MoS</span>, Shields)<br /> x10 Warriors (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(101);'>MoS</span>, Shields)<br /> x10 Warriors (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(101);'>MoS</span>, Shields)<br /> x10 Warriors (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(101);'>MoS</span>, Halberds)<br /> x10 Warriors (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(101);'>MoS</span>, Halberds)<br /> <br /> <u>Special:</u> 481 points<br /> x5 Chosen Knights (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(101);'>MoS</span>, Std Bearer, War Banner)<br /> x5 Marauder Cav (Flails, Mus)<br /> x2 Chariots of Slaanesh<br /> <br /> <u>Rare:</u> 225 points<br /> Giant (Mutant Monstrocity)<br /> <br /> The basic idea is an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(308);'>MSU</span> Chaos Warrior style.  Most of the army is immune to psych, and having re-rollable stubborn break tests should turn those small Warrior blocks into a rather large anvil.  The hammer punch would be in the form of pretty much everything else - as the list has absolute scads of S5 attacks to toss about.<br /> <br /> Is this even viable in the least?  Is it laughable?  I'm worried about shooting having lost a fair bit of warmachine hunting with the list change. 				<description><![CDATA[ woah! how are they all stubborn? and re-rolling break test, unless they all plan on being within 12" of the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span> i don't get it. <br /> <br /> the list is very bland and easy to beat. warriors aren't fast enough, or cheap enough to do any kind of effective <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(308);'>MSU</span> playstyle. that's what marauders are for. also nothing you have can do any real damage in combat. all your combat depends upon kills and a lot at that. the knights are a bad since your running only 5. they just can't do enough to win combat. to win they have to pull 5 kills and then they win only by 1 (against most blocks at 3 ranks, banner, numbers) and then the enemy can do none back. it's a flimsy idea at best.<br /> <br /> the daemonic mount is crap don't take it. making you lord be able to be picked out everywhere without a decent movement rate is just a plain bad idea. plus the daemonic mount does too little attacks wise etc to be useful. also he loses the mounted and barding bonus, meaning he'll have a 3+ or 2+ at best, not a 1+ or 0+ save.<br /> <br /> you need a hammer...at least one big block of something to make the opponent regret charging and chasing that unit of warriors/marauders.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Banner of the Gods on the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span> = all units within 12" are stubborn.  That's the main gimmick, and yeah it is a total gimmick...<br /> <br /> Wasn't sure if they'd changed the Demonic Mount rules or no, since it's only got 1 wound in the new list.  If it hasn't changed then just make that a normal mount (agree 100% on regular mounts being better if they haven't changed those rules).]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ oh ok. i haven't really looked at the daemonic mount as i assumed it would pretty much stay the same as most mounts and other big creatures do from one book to the next. well if your right then yes take it.<br /> <br /> also that magic banner is dirty, there is absolutely no reason  not to take the damned thing so yes that's great. <br /> <br /> ok other than the whole daemonic mount question i say the list is ok and will be set if you put in one unit as a hammer, like one unit of warriors of chaos with two hand weapons or something similar to make them extra nasty, in a block with 6 frontage and 4 ranks total. you could save a few guys by putting the general and/or <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span> in the unit on the mounts.<br /> <br /> a way to get points for this would be drop the marauder cav, drop <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(101);'>MoS</span> off the chariots because it really doesn't help them all that much anyways and if they have the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span> nearby then no test will be a problem. then just simply turn one of your small units into the hammer. all that would take is adding the general and/or <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span> to the unit, along with 10 more dudes. i know that may not be the idea your going for but in my eyes having one big block in an army is always a must]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ It's definately worth thinking about.  I know the lack of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(173);'>CR</span> is going to be a tricky thing to work around, but at the same time I wonder how well the force would be at just sitting there and grinding down an opponent.<br /> <br /> Stubborn, ItP, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(82);'>Ld</span> 8 troops with a re-roll are going to be rediculously difficult to get rid of through static combat resolution alone.  It's kind of like having a 50-model tarpit as long as the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span> is still up - a tarpit that has teeth no less.  <br /> <br /> My vision would be to have the 5 blocks all staggered with the chariots nestled in.  <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span> in the center, Sorc's on the edges - then the Exalted, Marauds, Chosen, and Giant are either heavy to one flank or split between flanks (depending on what I'm looking at across the board).  Blocks move forward and stick to enemy units - kind of collecting them up into a central mass or forcing them out and into the path of the heavier units.<br /> <br /> I dunno - I can see it working in my head, but I don't know if the current edition has something that would sneak up and bite me in the end.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ yea that sounds like an ok plan. try play testing it sometime and you may find it works out better than you thought, or far worse. give it a try before you buy all the models so if your list needs a quick re-write then it'll be easy to do]]></description>
