Wraithlord - MC - Just a few questions for V5

Ok, I finally bought the V5 BGB. Been reading for a day straight now. I have a few questions about Wraithlords though.

Firstly, MC can "fire two weapons instead of one", which is handy, meaning I can fire, say, a brightlance and a starcannon. Got that bit.
But what about the flamers? Say I was withing close proximity of a squad of MEQs, and I wanted to fire the BL, the SC and the flamers, can I do that?

Also, seeing as the Eldar dex says any two of the same weapon on a WL are TL, does that count for the flamers too?
If so that's awesome.

Many thanks guys.

I'm sure I'll be corrected quickly if I'm wrong but I'll take a stab at this one.

Flamers are str4, defensive weapons, so they can always be fired.

Does the codex say that the Wraithlord is armed with two flamers? If so, Twin-linked. If it just says it also have a flamer, than I'd say no.

Hmm, seems like a bit of a waste. I doubt I'll use the flamers at all then, seeing as the other two have a higher chance of getting some MEQ death.

If I used a Wraithsword I could fire them both though right?

EDIT: I will assume I'm right on the TL issue though; thanks!

Wraithlord - MC - Just a few questions for V5

Flamers can actually have a better chance of killing more marines if (1) you can hit a bunch of them or (2) they're in cover.

I'd guesstimate the number to be really low actually (because of dual flamers), around 3 or so. In other words, if you can hit 3 or 4 marines in cover with each of your flamer templates, you'll cause more casualties than if you fired the BL and SC at them in the same situation.

[edit]
Okay yeah I went and figured it out just for fun.

A BL and SC firing at marines in 4+ cover kills .65 marines.

If you hit just two marines with each of the flamer templates (four hits total), you kill .6 marines. So my original estimate--being able to touch 3+ marines with the template--was right.

Acording to the Codex, only a Wraithlords big guns (bright lance, missile launcher, etc) count as twin-linked if doubled. The shuriken catapults or flamers do not. I check on this at Games Day with the designers. 2 flamers are the way to go. -K

Always take the 2 flamers. That way you have mob controll with your flamers and firepower with you BL and EML. All that for 155. A steal really.

flamers are of so much use in 5th i wouldnt take wraithlords without them. if you have a big mob or orks, or some guys in cover but only a BL and a startcannon you will wish you had brought flamers.

Re:Wraithlord - MC - Just a few questions for V5

In 5th ed, EVERYTHING gets a cover save. When making your list, assume that 50% of the time any infantry you shoot with AP2/3 weapons is going to get a cover save. This will save you a lot of heartache when actually gaming. Wraithlord flamers do not count as twin-linked, meaning you get two flame templates to throw at mobs. Unless you're fighting one guy with a 2+ save, 2 flamers is going to be a far better choice in just about any scenario where they are within range to be used.

5th ed loves flame templates.
