New 0rk army

Im finally getting around to updating my green hell. I picked up a box of the new loota's, and was wondering about the bases.

Should I base them on 40mm bases, or let them wobble with the 25's? I didn't woory about them before, but after I found a couple of the old metal deathskull lootas, I am beginning to wonder.

For those who don't know, they had a bunch of deathskul lootas with weapons and they came with 25 mm bases. the guys are topheavy so reast assured they fall over easily.
So, is there any reason NOT to put them on the 40mm bases?

You're safest, rules-wise, putting them on 25mm bases, but I can't imagine too many people being upset about them being on 40mm bases. Tournaments are the only real time to worry about it, and I'd just clear it with the tournament organizers beforehand.

You can always glue a nickel or washer (or something similar) inside the bottom of the base. Works wonders for balance.

Did they change the 'basing' rules? We were always allowed to model them one base-size up than what they come with in tournaments.

All my Nobs are on 40mm for stability and detailed bases. My Warboss in mega armor and the SAG mek are on dred-bases. I was also considering putting flash gitz on cinematic bases because they are multiwound and pirates.

My Old lootaz are very topheavy as they have plasmacannon and stuff. The new ones are plastic and a little more stable but I can tell you I considered 40mm.

Re:New 0rk army

Back when plastic minis were rare and top-heavy was the norm, I used to use fishing sinkers. They are small lead balls that you pinch onto a fishing line. Since they are lead, a pair of pliers mooshed them into the base for a nice fit. Also, since they were lead, they were pretty heavy and counter-balanced the mini nicely.

Nickles or pennies are probably the easiest, though. Have a party at your friends house with much booze and then toss his couch the next day (when the hangover subsides, that is). There's a good chance you'll be able to base an army.

Ghidorah
