Turret T-Joints and the Like...

Ahoy folks, I come to you here with a quandary.

I have now assembled about 4 predators but they're all facing the same problem, I'd ostensibly like to have the main turret rotate, yet stay secure enough that ti doesn't go rolling around all over the darn place even when securely packed in my figure case. I looked in the painting space marine book, and it recommends making a "T-Joint from a sprue and placing it inside the turret on the underside to secure it and give it rotating ability."

While that worked just fine for my whirlwinds as the mounting plate for the missile turret has to be flipped accordingly, the mounting plate, when flipped for the predator does not allow me really to do that without it rotating all irregularly and generally not very well. Plus, I found it really doesn't secure the turret all that well and just trying secure one of them left the underside of my turret a disgusting mass of super glue and accelerant.

Anybody have any recommendations for this situation or should I just take the "safe and sturdy" route and just glue the turret into one position?

Thanks for the help!

Maybe a piece of plastic could help. Get a pipe with a diameter fitting into the turret and saw 1" off.Glue this little piece inside the turret.
Glue another bigger plate/stick under this to form the "T-joint" the book mentioned.

Cut a length of tubing(1/4"-1/2" brass tubing will do) and affix it to the inside floor of the tank. Affix a nice strong magnet to the top of the tube and place a corresponding piece of metal or magnet in the turret. You have now magnetized the turret so it can be removed or rotate freely.
