				<description><![CDATA[ I do not have much experience with Tyranids lately, I am wondering what people think.  Stupid question but can Gaunts give a cover save to Warriors?  I am too lazy to look it up.  What about Tyrant Guard (with a Hive Tyrant)? I think I will lose the Broodlord.  Basically lose the killer close combat unit and take more shooting.  I don't know if I have anti-tank.  I really want the running Carnifexes, although they are probably better with Venom Cannons, especially since everything else is shooting anyway.  Soon as I start Venom Cannons on they are losing other upgrades.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Being a somewhat new nid player myself take some of these suggestions with a grain of salt, but this is what I am seeing.<br /> <br /> First and foremost...not a single scoring unit in your army except perhaps the genestealer retinue, but then again they are taken as an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> choice so they still may not be scoring. You will notice in the dex that it says specifically that rippers swarms are not scoring units. Therefore on any non-kill point game the best you can get is a draw.<br /> <br /> The hive tyrant should focus on one aspect, close combat or long range. With tyrant gaurd I would just stick to long range. Definitely drop Toxic Miasma and the Symbiote Rippers.<br /> <br /> Broodlord is good, just remember to specify with adrenal glands if it is <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(149);'>WS</span>, Initiative, or both.<br /> <br /> Warriors are ok, take off the rippers and give them Toxin sacs. Maybe give them one gun and scything talons as well.<br /> <br /> Replace the ripper swarms with gaunts. You can probably take twice as many flesh gaunts than you would rippers.<br /> <br /> Just take out the spore mines.<br /> <br /> The Carnifex has no weapons in his profile there, and seems a little too upgraded. For <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> give him scything talons and crushing claws and for range you can give him two <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> devourers (8 S6 shots that are re-rollable to hit and wound) or a Venom cannon and Barbed Strangler.  After giving him weapons and basic upgrades (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(149);'>WS</span> and I for <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> or <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>BS</span> for range) if you are still hurting for points give him more wounds and toughness, then maybe regenerate.<br /> <br /> I like Zoanthropes, if you are having trouble with synapse then take out psychic scream and give them the synapse ability.<br /> <br /> After you have taken off all the unneeded upgrades you should have plenty of points left over to fill in more troop slots. One thing to remember is that sometimes it is better to run alot of cheaper units then some upgraded units, and spinegaunts at 5 points per unit makes a great meat shield for some of your better units. Also if you are playing in 5th edition it is very important to run scoring units for objective holding.<br /> <br /> Hopefully some of those suggestions help you out there.<br /> ]]></description>
