Shiny Black Breast Plates and Shin guard areas to simulate the lacquered armor. The shoulder pads and tabard areas could be painted to resemble the corded weaves indicative of the Samurai armor.

Definately the back banners to represent family houses and lords. Don't forget some kind of Lotus Flower Detail or something like it. Something else w/ the helmets..but I'm not sure atm...

I was thinking of trying to find some small katanas and similar weapons if I can locate the appropriate bitz.
