				<description><![CDATA[ Gonna sound very noobish here but ... 1750 is avg. Tourney size correct? I remember 1850, but I had heard they were changing it with the new edition<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>:<br /> Chaplin : Jump pack : 115<br /> <br /> Elite:<br /> Dreadnought : Multi-melta, Extra Armor, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(262);'>DP</span> with Beacon : 120 + 45<br /> <br /> Troops:<br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>Tac</span> Squad : Missile Launcher, Melta Gun, Power Fist, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(262);'>DP</span> with Beacon : 200 + 45<br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>Tac</span> Squad : Lascannon, Flamer, Power Weapon, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(262);'>DP</span> : 195 + 35<br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>Tac</span> Squad : Missile Launcher, Plasma Gun, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(262);'>DP</span> : 180 + 35<br /> <br /> Fast Attack:<br /> 5 Vanguard Veterans : Lightning Claws : 250<br /> Assault Squad : 2 Plasma Pistols, Power Fist : 245<br /> Assault Squad : 2 Flamers, Power Fist : 235<br /> <br /> Total: 1700 <br /> <br /> I don't know what to do with the last 50 pts, I'm thinking of scrapping the Dreadnought and throwing in a 5 man Sternguard Veterens.<br /> The basic idea of the army is that the Dread and the Melta/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>PF</span> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>Tac</span> Squad drop in as a vanguard the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> sqaud splits into combat squads and the missile launcher moves back while the other half moves forward.  The other two <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> sqauds drop in closer to objectives on my side and hold them.  The Assault Sqauds come in where the drop pods with beacons landed and dont scatter while still using it as cover.  The vanguard are my oh <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(270);'>Sh</span>!t button, getting them to land close to the pods and assault straight in avoiding the round of fire that is inevitably coming their way.<br /> <br /> Please let me know what you think about this set-up and any changes you think are at the very least prudent, if not down right necessary.<br /> <br /> Thanks!]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ True, but even if I took out the chap I'd be 30 pts over with Shrike in there.  I'd have to take out an assault marine (with a special weapon) to make that up, and I'm not sure if it'd be worth it.  However I'd love to get an assault squad into combat turn 1 and throw a beacon on the sarge (if that's even possible).]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I'd drop the assault marines to get the turn one charge.... Also, consider that at least one of the first two pods (coming down on turn one) will/should have the beacon.... A screen of tacs surrounding shrike and his assault marines sounds nifty. Throw in a dread for extra punchy-ness. <br /> <br /> I don't know how effective it would be but it sounds like fun.<br /> <br /> ender502]]></description>

Think that should still leave me with enough to work with or should I consider dropping special gear instead?<br /> <br /> Anyone else with some thoughts?]]></description>

That's why they are so freaking expensive.  Though they are less expensive than they used to be if memory serves. 				<description><![CDATA[ Yea I redid the math ... Was a little unhappy when I figured out I had done it wrong and that the Veterens cost 60 pts more than what I had expected.  I think I only gave them one <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>lc</span> each.  So I changed them out for the Box Set ones, they are 250 (2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(194);'>PP</span>, 2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(486);'>PW</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(744);'>RW</span>) and see how they do overall.  The scouts could be fun, I'll have to tweak the army over the next couple months so I'm sure at one point I'll be trying them (yay proxys).]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Looks really goood. This may just be my bias for the raven guard (corax be praised!) but I like the idea of your army. I'd take out the sternguard <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>PF</span> and put in 2 meltas. Maybe take out the combi melta for the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> squad. Take off the EA... and take out 5 points of something that you don't need... like this: take out the melta gun in the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span> squad, and give that guy a flamer. <br /> <br /> This will give you a missile launcher, a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(239);'>LAS</span> cannon, to take out tanks from range. A <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span> to keep enemy tanks away, 2 flamer squads to take buildings with, a melta squad for close range tank hunting. A sniper squad to rend the crap out of everyone. 2 dedicated <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(482);'>AT</span> squads (the dread and the sternguard).<br /> <br /> ]]></description>

Just give 2 of them meltas, take out the power fist, and keep the combi melta. <br /> <br /> So you have 2 normal sterguard, 1 with combi melta, 2 with regular meltas. <br /> <br /> I think that it would be a really good idea to give that last <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> squad a drop pod. Then again, you could save the 35 points and the extra <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(316);'>KP</span> and just use that <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> squad to hold any objective in your deployment zone. <br /> <br /> And giving assault squads melta bombs is good<br /> <br /> ]]></description>

Bumped the points up to 1850 for Non-<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span> tourneys.  I am thinking of dropping the Ironclad back down to a regular dread and get some more melta goodness in both the sternguard and the assault squad, OR to get a razorback that will tank-hunt / drop off the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>PF</span> combat squad in the appropriate places.  I have yet to test this out, but I think it would fit my play style much better.]]></description>
