Siren Song Vs Frenzy....

And another query!

Right, first up, Siren Song and what it does. Once per game, any enemy unit within charge reach has to *either* decalre a charge against the character (or characters unit as applicable) or flee.

Frenzy, however, prevents the model from declaring charges at all (after all non-Frenzied units have declared charges, check charge range for Frenzied units. If your in, you charge, but you do get a choice if multiple units are within reach).

So, Siren Song, technically, cannot affect a Frenzied unit or Character, as I cannot normally charge. This came up in a game last night, and we agreed I had to charge, as a spectator mis-read the Frenzy rule for charges. Didn't matter much, as the Warboss still stomped the unit flat!

There are other things which have a similar (if not identical) affect, so I thought it was worth clearing up, especially when my entire sodding army is Frenzied!

The issue is null.
Charges can only be declared using the siren if they are in range (see dwarf FAQ and master rune of challenge)
Since they are in range and frenzied they must charge anyways.

However, if your question is can you make frenzied unit A charge unit B instead of C then I think the answer is yes. They do declare charges but not in the normal sequence. And they are allowed to declare regular charges if they wish (otherwise a unit with a frenzied char could never charge).

No, they don't declare charges at all.

The rule reads something like this...

'After all Non-Frenzied Units have declared charges measure the range, if you are in Range, the unit automatically charges. If their are two or more units within reach, the controlling player may choose which is charged'

No declaration and no control normally.

t\The rule just says that after you have declared charges you must measure to see if a frenzied unit is in range, it doesn't prevent you from declaring an iffy charge and failing it. al it says is that if you are in charge range, you must charge, not that you have no choice to declare a charge. anyways, I though that Siren song and other items like it didn;t work on units immune to psychology, and I thought frenzy made you immune to psych. am i wrong?

In the rulebook I have, it specifies that after all non-Frenzied units...

And it is most definitely the right edition, as it's the small format one I got with my gamers pack.

Like I said though, no biggy. Didn't impact on the game any and I'm just asking out of interest.
