how high of thoughness? handguns, cannons and hell blasters should take care of anything T4, and hell blasters and cannons can kill T5 easy too. you really shouldn't be fighting much(if anything other than was machines) higher than that.

Empire Tactic Questions?

So I used the hellblast gun for the first time yesterday, OMG, I love it. I played replayed the same guy who crushed me the other day, he's a good friend is helping me learn. His army is wood elves, where everything is trees. When push comes to shove, he barely be me. And I need to find a way to protect my knights from Terror. That's what beat was all 16 of my Knights ran away. Oh and they were in separate armies of 8. My roll for terror just sucked. Thanks for the advice.

Can you give them a magic standard or something that gives one of them immunity to fear and terror? Or stick a warrior priest in the unit with them, he would probably help (not having the book i'm not sure).

Get rid of him.
Sub a model for another warrior priest which will give you 2 bound spells, and the wizard lord as general which means you can take a BSB for valuable rerolls.

Problem though is that his entire army causes fear so snake eyes are unlikely even with the reroll...

Guess what? That means they only benefit from causing Fear after they've taken any Fear tests for wishing to charge a Fear causing enemy.

Now, if they lose combat they won't autobreak from combat when outnumbered by a Fear causing enemy but that's not really cause for celebration.

The best use of this Banner is giving it to a (large) Knight unit that's chargin troops that do not cause Fear/Terror themselves and aren't immune to psychology/unbreakable. Now they should win combat (unless the dice are against you, and you did charge into a combat you can win didn't you?), you're unit strength should be pretty big and now you autobreak the enemy unit.
Very situational IMO and against quite a few armies completely useless, against Wood Elves it's not completely useless but there's not much chance of it being usefull (unless your opponent plays with sizeable units of Spear Elves).

If you want to take something that helps vs Fear/Terror then take a character with the Icon of Magnus in the unit.
