I've got an idea for an (IG) army up my sleeve that involves having pieces of armor be completely transparent (With glazes of paint over them, but that's beside the point). So, in theory, if I painted layer upon layer upon layer of Glosscoat over an area, would it eventually serve the same purpose as a clear resin mold? Not too worried about the shape of the "Armor", as I'll have raised edges around any clear part of it that should catch the glosscoat and (hopefully) flatten it out.

At the same time I cant stress enough that you wait for a complete dry before you apply the next coat. Dpeneding on how thick each coat is you may need to wait 24 hours between each.
