Help me pick out my paint colours!

Alright, so I spent a bit of time in photoshop using a jump pack chaplain as my base for picking out my chapter's colours. Now... I've come to realize it's fairly similar to the White Scars, which is why I decided I'm going to do these in a darker dirtier colour scheme than the official white scars. I found a formula for painting dirty white armor in Games-Workshop colours, and I like it a LOT, so I'm going to try and imitate it the best I can.

I'm going to be using Vallejo Paints Game Color, and I need base coats, highlights and inks/washes from their line to pick out. First, here's the dirty white I found and plan to use, courtesy of L0NEW0LF from The Bolter and Chainsword.

"the white was...
undercoated black
basecoat dheneb stone
badab black wash (undiluted)
dheneb stone highlight
50:50 dheneb stone + white highlight
white highlight "

So for the vallejo colors I'm thinking...

undercoat black
basecoat stonewall gray
smokey ink wash
stonewall gray highlight/touch-ups
50:50 stonewall gray/skull white highlight
skull white highlight

For the reds I'm thinking

basecoat scab red
continue to use the smokey ink wash for dramatic recesses,
highlight bloody red
highlight continually increasingly lighter mix of bloody red/white

browns doing the same thing with
beasty brown as base
and cobra leather highlights

Same for the toned seals, just highlighting all the way up to pure skull white.

Finally skin tones... I'm looking to avoid them, but I'm going to make them rather pale, and am thinking some mixture of elf skin tone, pale flesh, and cadmium skin.

black for all the black, with some black/cold gray highlights

and gunmetal metal/chainmail silver for metallic weapon bits.

I think those colors will look great, very similar to my guard, but I went a little simpler (theres 50+ models in my 600pt force, so this makes sense)

I prime in black and paint cloth with scab red and armor adeptus B.grey, highlight with black and boltgun metal as nessisary and wash with more black.
It ends up with a tasty, but muted warm/cool contrast.

Looking forward to your finished product!

You can also use an almond colored spray for a primer. I used the Rustoleum high heat (almond) as the base for my tyranids

That could work, but I'm thinking the black would be best, mostly because I want really rich dark recesses in the armor. If I use the black, it'll be quite dark to start with, and the ink will help give it the level of contrast I want.
