First time painting orks...

Ok I have painted damn near everything under the sun, but I have yet to paint ork flesh. What is your favorite way to do this?

My plan:
Black undercoat
Orkhide (foundation)
Drybrush Dark Angels Green
Drybrush snot green
Wash with Green Ink

I am going for the fairly dull skin tone, don't want it to be to bright. How do you think this will work?

I just started painting Orks with the AoBR set. I picked up a copy of the "How to Paint Citadel Miniatures" book at my FLGS and it has an Orc Warboss step-by-step that I took the flesh steps from. It doesn't seem to be too bright to me, particularly if you're prudent with the highlights:

Black foundation
Base coat in Dark Angels Green
Highlight with 50/50 DA Green/Goblin Green Mix
Highlight with Goblin Green
Highlight with 50/50 Goblin Green/Bleached Bone mix

yeah, thats similar to how I used to paint mine.

I used to go:
black undercoat,
Dark angels green,
drybrush 3/1 dark angels green & goblin green
drybrush 2/2 dark angels green & goblin green
light drybrush with pure goblin green.

that gave a me a fairly dark skin tone. Ive since switched to:

Black undercoat
dark angels green
drybrush 3/1 dark angels/goblin
drybrush 2/2 dark angels/goblin
light drybrush 1/3 dark angels/goblin
highlight with pure goblin green
fine highlight with 2/2 goblin green/ bleached bone

'cos I found the original scheme was a bit too dark & I wanted my ork flesh a bit more vibrant. that said, if darks what youre going for, I think your plans nigh on perfect.

Hey thanks a lot for the replies guys! One more question... do you water down your foundation paints? I got out of the hobby right before they were released, so I know practically nothing about them!

(the AoBR Orks and SM will be my comeback models )

white undercoat?!yooza speak like yoza needz a good beatin'...
no , no, no not a white undercoat... take a black undercoat and put some orkhideshade on that, then paint all but the deepest recesses with a 1:1 mix of orkhideshade and snot green (take slighly more of the snot green, since the foundation paints have more pigment than the regular citadel), then highlight the highest points.
if painting any small things like grotz just add some sunburst yellow.
if done right on big orks and with some light blue added you can make the skin around tubes and such.
hope it helps!
//J
