Ork Biker Boss

Hey all

I am always checking out what people are doing for inspiration and such. I really enjoy the modeling side as much as I like the gaming side of this hobby. After tons of experimenting with different paint schemes and ways to paint I landed on this one as the one I really like. It doesn’t take that long for any models. It really pulls together models when they are all together, and it is a different look for orks. (At least for any I see around here or run into)

I finished my first biker boss conversion so I thought I would share. Feel free to talk trash or get inspiration, complain, or praise as you see fit. The conversion and painting was actually all really simple and really fast. (I am super busy so I tend to experiment until I find what really looks good to me but isn’t super hard or time consuming for conversions or painting. )
Enjoy

Very Akira. Very cool.

I like the use of bits and the paint looks great too. Well done.

My only criticism would be to fill the gap on the base and drill the barrels on the weapons.

I like the 'feel' of the model, but for me the nob is just too squashed down into the bike. Keep up the good work though!

Re:Ork Biker Boss

Thanks for the positive feedback guys.

@ Glaive Company CO
I have been debating on if I should fill the gap in the base. Although honestly I am not sure how I will do it or even what I would do it with? I suppose just some Grren stuff would do fine but I am sure it would be a pain at this point lol. Also I think your completely right it would look a ton better if I would drill out the guns. Do you think it would mess it up to do it at this point or a little touch up paint and it would be good to go?

@InyokaMadoda
Hmmm If you could hold the model it looks really good up close. Since basically it a deffkopta all cut apart and with bitz a plenty. I only cut off the drivers shoulder, arm, and replaced his head. Which means if you hold it its very clean where the driver sits, but as you pointed out does make him look a bit sunk in. After you made the comment and looking at my other bikers he does look deep, but then this does add to the akira effect. I can just pretend being deep in the frame helps with that T6 if it starts to bother me. =P

@DaPlaugedOrk
The two bases really do the model justice I think. All my nob bikers are on one of those bases. Honestly they are also converted from the older bikes. I had them for awhile but never really liked the rules for them or the models that much. When I started playing again with the new codex I knew finally had a use for them on the table top and converted them up. I am just about done with the whole squad. When you put the Boss next to them he really stands out because of his massive size so there is no question he is the boss. Which is how it should be in true orky fashion. =)

Once again thanks for the positive feedback.

I think you could pull it off to drill the barrels now. You've obviously got the painting skills. The gap in the base isn't really a big enough deal to worry that much about. But if you're feeling like filling it - for things like that I usually use Squadron Green Putty, but Green Stuff works too.

Again, really cool mini!
