Err, actually that's not it, at least not as I have heard it; my understanding is MEQs are more about S4 T4 models, usually with 3+ armor, and is used in contrast to GEQ, which is S3 T3, usually with 4/5+ saves. So,

SM, CSM, Necrons = MEQ

Eldar, Imperial Guard = GEQ

Sisters... kinda neither, since they have GEQ stats and MEQ saves.

Purely out of curiosity, on what basis is MEq more correct then MEQ? MEq because capital letters are reserved for the initial letters of words in an acronym (USA, NATO etc.) but subsequent letters may need to be included for clarity (PzKpfw.)

Hence Marine Equivalent becomes MEq.

People used to type out acronyms properly with the full stops -- U.S.A -- and got tired of doing that since it slows down what is supposed to be a speeded up process.
