Explain the Apoc Barrage rule for the Khorne Doom Blaster

The Doom Blaster has a Special rule for the Doom Mortar of Apoc Barrage (X). X is equal to the number of functioning Doom Mortars at the time the attack is made. Note that the Doom Mortars may not fire individually; they must all fire as part of a single Apoc Barrage.

Here's a few questions;

Is the Apoc Barrage the 4-5" combined template.

Does that mean all 4 of those will stack on top of each other or will they drift according to 4 separate rolls. So that would mean that a squad could get pounded into lunch meat from being pounded by 4 overlapping templates.

I'm planning one so any help understanding the rules would be appreciated

For one thing, the Apocalypse Barrage template never scatters. The number simply means the amount of dice you roll on the giant combined template, as per the Apoc Barrage rules given in the rulebook. The Doom Blaster starts with 4 rolls per barrage, and goes down from there.

If you happen to roll, say, 5-6 on all the dice then yes, whatever lies under there is going to be tenderized.
