Wood Elf 2250

This is a 2250 Wood Elf list I came up with for fun, I thought it would be crazy in a game and wondered what you thought of it.
Criticism gladly accepted, I enjoy that kind of stuff. This was my attempt at "cheesy" Wood Elves.

LORD
Treeman Ancient
Cluster of Radiants

HEROES
Spellsinger
Lvl 2
Scroll

Branchwraith
Level 1

Branchwraith
Level 1

CORE
12 Dryads

12 Dryads

12 Dryads

SPECIAL
6 Wardancers

6 Wardancers

6 Wild Riders
Musician and Standard

6 Wild Riders
Musician and Standard

RARE:
Treeman

Treeman

Total: 2248

This army can cast Tree Singing seven times, 4 times as a Bound spell. It's designed to have 3 Treemen roaming around smashing apart everything and the Wild Riders with the Treemen Terror/Fear bomb everything. Treemen have the awesome ability to take on pretty much any enemy unit.

Treeman Ancient takes a rare slot so you can't have 2 Treemen and a Treeman Ancient.

Skirmishers like Dryads and Wardancers should be run in groups of 7 or 8 because only 7 can make base contact at a time and you get no benefit from having more so 8 is a good number in case you lose 1 or 2 to shooting.

Glade Riders with Musician are good for March blocking since your not running any eagles.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I've re-written the list and it is as follows.

Treeman Ancient
An Annoyance of Netlings
A Cluster of Radiants

Spellsinger
Level 2
Scroll

Branchwraith
Level 1

Branchwraith
Level 1

8 Dryads

8 Dryads

8 Dryads

8 Dryads

8 Wardancers

7 Wardancers
Musician

3 Warhawks

6 Wild Riders
Musician
Standard

Treeman

I don't think Glade Riders are as good march blockers as Warhawks, also I like Warhawk riders more. I trust flying much more than moving 18".
Avariel said that the Wardancer units were too small and were likely to be shot down, so I've changed the units. The unit with less models has a musician, but I've also taken another unit of Dryads to add to the numbers therefore minimising the chances of my opponent shooting the Wardancers. If I must, I can even screen the Wardancers with the Dryads, although that's a desperate measure.

Also on the matter of my units dying from shooting, I think most people would shoot at the two Treemen, those two are large targets and are easier to take out from shooting that at combat.

Just hide your Skirmishers in a forest. Against shooting that's now a -3 modifier to hit.

For real fun, stick your skirmishers in a forest and then use the 5-6 tree singing spells you have to move the forests closer and closer to the enemy.

Ozymandias, King of Kings

My plan is generally to isolate his units with tree singing and then destroy the elite units with Wardancers and the basic units with Dryads. I'm not sure how effective putting Skirmishers in a forest would be depending on the amount of woods. If there's a sever lacking then I'm sorta screwed.

Re:Wood Elf 2250

As for Glade Riders vs. Warhawks, they are both good and have ups and downs. The benefit of using Glade Riders is that they are classed as Fast Cavalry. This means that you can bait a charge, flee, and then when you rally you are free to march and shoot that turn, allowing you to constantly be harassing and baiting.

When warhawk riders flee and rally, they are stuck in one spot for a turn, so even with 2 more inches of move, they can (in some cases) be less maneuverable than Glade Riders.

If you're only planning on using them for march-blocking and warmachine hunting, then I guess it doesn't matter, but having units that can flee from a charge and then rally and do it again the next turn is nice.
