Small Wraithguard squads

Thirty Guardians is a lot. Two squads of 10 could find cover, but the Stormies should get a Serpent for protection.
If you field an Avatar, then you need a Farseer able to fortune him and to doom a squad to be shot.

Small WG squads don't cut it unless they are given a Serpent. I'd go with Warp Spiders as you can do crazy things with them.

Small Wraithguard squads

Just thinking off the top of my head, I don't think you can take a wraithguard squad with just 4. I believe that the squad size is 5-10 and the warlock is an add on (rather than an upgrade of one of the existing models). You should probably check that out.

With that being said, the answer to your question isn't as simple as one or the other (at least not yet) because I don't know what is in your army. Sure you have an avatar and a lot of guardians, but what are the guardians equipped with and do you have other units in the army or is this it?

In general, I would lean towards the spiders since you really lack mobility in the army so far. However, depending on how your squads are outfitted, you may also be hurting for anti tank power and you're not going to get that from the spiders. So if that is the case, you may want to pick up the 5 man wraithguard squad.

I guess thats why I chose the spyders in the first place. Fortuning the avatar isnt nessicary. Niether is doom. Ive spent those points elsewhere to make up for it.

The guardains will, probably, die in droves but thier fearless so I care not. I should be okay for cover with some screening harlies.

9 spyders shooting at AV12 should, on averge, get one glancing?

The extra 2d6" move is done in the assault phase (if your not in combat) which is after the shooting phase... unless you mean to prep yourself for the following turn?

Good call about deep-striking dispersal!
