Want to do up some of my IG tanks in a white but have a problem. Now i think the easiest thing is to spray the tank with a white under-coat and go from there. Only thing is i don't want it to look stark white but am worried washing it will make it look grimy.

Anyone have pics and a recipe for painting a nice looking tank with washes or similar techniques to make it look realistic.

Yeah i am not one to layer hehe. Most of my models are a few coats at least color wise. Was primarily a dry brusher mostly but with the washes and foundations there's a slew of new pallette possibilities.

Still only want to make a few strokes brush wise hehe.

Stark white?

You know, what might look better is if you start with normal camouflage and put what looks like a white wash over it. I did this with a Tiger 1 once, I sprayed it over in panzer grey, but then used a stiff coarse brush and painted on the Testors white paint. The coase brush left brush marks in it and gave it the effect that it had been applied in a rough and ready workshop appearance, or even out in the field. It's worth remembering that whitewash was painted on in a carefree fashion using brushes, brooms or even someone's shirt tied to a stick. Neatness is not to be expected, and the model looks the better for it. If that appeals to you, there are probably articles out there, even worth trying the more serious scale modelling magazines.
