Whether said models are in the same unit as the model seeing or being seen is irrelevant.

Slann can see the Damsel. As could a Treeman Ancient with the little sniper Spite. This identical situation came up with me in game 1 of my tournament yesterday, too bad the damsel rolled a 5 for the miscast, and then when i forced the reroll with the cursed charm, rolled a 6, lol.
