While you might not want magic per say, ignoring magic defense entirely could really cause some problems. And I don't really think the dagger of hotek counts as magic defense. I faced a mixed army of demons with tzeentch untis and I SUFFERED. Thats with 3 dispel dice and a scroll. You would only have 2 disple dice, even at 3K, where mr tzeentch may have 20+ power dice. A lvl1 sorc. with a few scrolls would at least be able to stop the "I cast this pell and your unit goes away" spells that some of the chaos lores have.

I think that I will run my lists with just a lvl1 with scrolls, or go all the way and take the lvl3 or 4 and secondary casters. Miscasts make me a little wary of investing that much in magic offense though, so I will probobly stick to mostly defense.

Anyway, I don't have many battles with DE under my wing so far so I really can't comment that much on the list. I like the fact that you used the tower masters ability to take magic items and them bringing the ring forward is a nice touch. After a quick re-read I had forgotten that it effects targeting any unit with 12" of the ring as well. That does make your magic defense a little stronger that I had originally thought.

I know my dwarves would fear this much mobility, though They would shoot down a lot of your rnf troops. However, your characters and the units that make it to the fight would probably own most of the dwarven units.

My vamps would have to get lucky with you failing some psychlogy checks to pull out a win. Sure I'd raise like no tomorrow, but your sheer killing power even from basic troops would own 90% of my units. I am impressed by how many attacks you can output with the new dex from basic units.

What's your basic strategy with this list? BG in the center with corsairs on each flank, cold ones hydras and mantacore taking a flank or the flanks?

So far my 2250 list is based on what I have painted. It's pretty hodge podge at the moment but I like to keep everything painted. I have a second hydra and RBT on the painting table now, as well as a seocnd dark rider unit.

I noticed that I didnt need the full 6 Cok + character. A unit of five like you have is what I plan on using during my next games. i also noticed that my one little sorceress was not cutting it by herself, which it seems you noticed as well. I think your Cok and hydras can really get some fast dual charges off and really put out a high number of high strength attacks. I havn't used corsairs yet, so no opinion on them specifically.
