As far as LCs looking cooler? The only LCs that look cool are the ones that come in the Chaos Terminator Lord box set. The rest look like the suck. In fact, the older metal LCs look better than the new plastics. If you were going to run Khan, I would flip the ratio to run 8 LC and 2 TH/SS. ( Assault ) Id like to point out that assault termies (or normal termies) do not have frag grenades so while they can fight at I4, assaults through cover..somthing usually taken for granted either by I1 reguardless TH or frag-grenade standard marines... hamper LC assault termies.

This can be completely offset by either a land raider redeemer or crusader delivery system. ( Assault ) SS termis are very good if you are dealing with lists made to have a single attack that ignores armor... but vs mass bolterfire/orks assault, a 2+/3+ is just as good as a 2+/5+

5th ed is going the way of volume of fire instead of quality of fire
