To be frank, I would In your place have painted the hammer head with the glowy, red effect (Which you did very well, might I add) and the cables metallic or black. But thats just me.

Re:Thunder Hammers

If you want to keep the overall "white hot" appearance, go for it. What you have done on the handle and cables looks good. Personally, I'd make one slight change.

Restrict the actual white spot to a much smaller area. Perhaps paint the head of the hammer in the hot metal style, starting with black/red at the rear (wings) and blending through the warmer shades leading to the face. The white could be used sparingly on the face, and perhaps a slight amount on the sides (at the front tips of the skull). Pulling the color effect through the hammer, and sparing use of white will help break the look that your termis are using Ivory Thunder Hammers. Keep us posted!

This is nothing against your painting, but if you're going to put in the time to paint them you can't defend yourself saying you're a lazy gamer. Do it right or don't do it at all, those models are 10 bucks each. Cut the mold lines off, it takes an hour to do the squad and dramatically improves results!

If you are going to spend that much time painting the glowy heat effects, you might as well take 1% that time and remove the mold lines. It would be a solid improvement.
As for the hammer head, I think that it looks too much like a blob of white. The glowing cables look great though.

Thunder Hammers

Mold lines, a quick scrape with the back of a hobby knife (like pro edge) does the trick, I never use the blade.
Painting, yeah the cables provide power to the head so only the head should glow. If the cables got that hot they'd melt and and the hammer would become just a plain ccw.
