It's just a different version of 40k, like cityfight, or the upcoming planetstrike. It's also in Apocalypse reload, but I don't know if the stats for it are different in Apocalypse games. Gives a different challenge to a game. I say go for it, the hobbies for enjoying, not sticking rigedly to the rules.
