Get fortune on that farseer, it's way, way more important for iyanden than guide is. Make sure the warlock has conceal. I'd consider bringing a group of 5 rangers over one of those guardian groups, as your opponent is simply going to target the guardians until they die, then stay away from the wraithguard. Overall though... playing a WG list at 500 points isn't going to work too well, because you don't have the points for an effective counter-attack unit to get the WG out of CC tarpits.

tarpits will be dangerous , i guess i will nead to charge my farseer into combat with those units if they get too close .
rangers , hmmmm.... they could snipe heavy weapons so they won't hurt my oh so precious wraithguard .

what about this list :

hq:
---------
farseer , fortune , spear= 88

elite:
---------
5 wraithguard + warlock , conceal = 215

troops:
------------
5 rangers = 95
10 guardians , eml = 95
-------------------------------------------------
498 points , 21 inf

rangers snipe heavy weapons , guardians hold objectives the wraithguards have cleared .

Never buy your farseer a spear. He's not very good in CC in the first place (thus thowing your strategy of "charging my farseer into CC" into doubt) and giving him a singing spear just makes him even worse.

If by "snipe heavy weapons" you think that rangers can pick which models your enemy removes from the table you are mistaken. If by "snipe heavy weapons" you just mean shoot at enemy squads containing heavy weapons, then that works out OK. Honestly though, against most armies that can fit waaay more dudes into 500 points, you're not going to be doing well. Orks can fit 60 infantry models easily into 500 points, and how could your list even possibly begin to deal with a threat like that?

Why not just up the Warlock to a Spirit Seer and take them as troops? Anyway, at 500 pts they are a waste. You need more troops like Wildydstyle said. I can only think of taking one squad at 1000pts, and you'd need a bunch of blast weapons to deal with hordes (Wraithguard can deal with MEQs, TEQs and Tanks fairly well).

Do you have the models to run 2 storm guardian squads and a wraithlord?

With the points switched from the wraithguard to the Wraith lord it would give you about 80 pts for the enhanced or destructorlocks.

That would give you a list more like:

Farseer-guide

10 storms, 2 flame, 1 destructor lock
10 storms, 2 melta, 1 Enhance lock

Wraithlord-EML, Twin flamer

See how many pts are left from there to play with.

If you only have what is listed let us know and we'll limit our suggestions to only the list shown.

Re:Iyanden tactics neaded !

Drop the warlock.. He simply isnt needed if the unit isnt trying to become a 10man sqaud, in the current context of thier use neway. Use those guardains for a cover save.

The spear is a fine idea. One attack either way wont stop anything if the wraithguards get charged. They will either pull themselves out of the combat or get stuck in combat (and maybe die), on thier own. The farseer wont do much. The singing spear is a good compliement to the wraithguards wraithguns. Same range, nearly as deadly.

If you do want semi-fighting wraithguard, keep the warlock and give it the enhance power. This will give you a proficent if very expensive (but hardy) CC unit.

If your worried about horde armies, swap a 10man EML guardain squad for a 11man 2x flamer storm guardain sqaud. Same points.

That above should fit with your current models, give you a decent fighting force (One EML for ranged offensive isn that bad, at a mere 500pts) and give you a good feel for the Iyanden army playstyle.

No no.. not alongside.

The stormies run Infront of the wraithguard, atleast enough of them to confer a coversave to the wraithguard. The twin flamers can deal with hordey types and the many bodies can engage anythign that would try to threaten the wraithguard. The squad, as it is, is small enough to get most of its shots at a target easily enough.

Oh.. and the stormies are kinda ment to die, fairly quickly. They are only painters, anyway.

They are only painters, anyway.

Actually... since the wraithguard are quite a bit tougher, especially at 500 points, if you're going to run storm guardians put them behind the wraithguard... then at least your opponent will have a harder choice ahead of him: shoot the tough guys in front, or the not-as-tough-guys-with-a-cover-save in back. Why protect your tough stuff when it's meant to be... tough...

The whole point behind a wraith-guard heavy list is that you have really tough units, with really destructive guns, then you cast fortune on them and make them even tougher. You WANT your opponent to shoot at the wraithguard because they will outlast the rest of your army, and their entire point is to give the rest of your panzees a bit of breathing room.

To that end... Dire Avengers with a defend/diresword exarch might make an ideal "backup" unit, because they can put out a good number of shots, and help deal with CC threats that are trying to kill your WG. Taking them instead of the pathfinders might be a good idea, as your pathfinders will just get left behind if the rest of your army is dealing with things at short range anyways.
