Hey Everyone,

I'm going to attempt my first Kustomizing/Scratch Building Project. I need Power-Klaws for my Ork army, so I think that will be my first attempt. I also want to bulk up a BattleWagon I bought, and I believe I saw a thread about this already.

So here are my questions.

1. I already have the Plasticard, but are there any other materials I might need?

2. What should I use to cut the Plasticard?

3. Is there a good cutting surface that won't dull the blade?

4. Are there any step by step guides to Kustom Building PowerKlaws?


Also, here are some other random questions.

1. What's the best way to remove lids from Super-Glue when they get "stuck on" ?

Besides plasticard, you can use cardstock, plastic rods and tubing, just about anything that has the right shape and look.

Depending on the thickness of the plastic, you might use scissors for very thin plasticard , up to a saw for thicker stuff. I use a steel ruler and a dental tool to score the plastic and then snap it off.

Any good cutting mat will preserve the blades, but if you are contacting the cutting surface, you are cutting too deep for the snap and score method.

Google for the Klaws.

Super glued lids: two pairs of pliers, preferably vice grips. Clamp down and twist. You might need to drill out the pipe. I would recommend buying fresh superglue or at least a fresh lid and screw top.

For just power claws? something to cut into rivets would be nice. But as far as scratch goes in general? I just setup part of my workshop-I've got cabnets full of misc things which could be used in building. Once you start collecting little bits of garbabe it can get out of hand.

A cutting mat, you can get these at walmart, sewing section.

Don't let them get stuck on, make sure you wipe it off and replace the cap ASAP

Still not sure about DeffRollas, but I guess I could use some plastic Tubing or PVC pipes or something...

Also, I'm still not sure what exactly qualifies as a good knife that I could use to cut the arms/guns offa Ork Boyz. I have an Exacto Knife, but I'm pretty sure that's too thin...then I have a 'Utility Knife", which is pretty heavy duty...I think that might work.
