Re:Hobby Clamps

never tried them myself, but looking around their website they have an offer to send you a free one.

http://chee-na.com/order.html (might have to scroll down to find it).

I went ahead and followed their instructions to see if they'll really send me one. I'm not usually one for giving out too much information on the internet to sales people, but all they wanted was a name and a shipping address so I'll give em a chance.

Hobby Clamps

For anyone who may interested. I received my free Chee-na hobby clamp yesterday (they shipped it fast) and have tried it out. It's very strong and I like it (have already used it assembling Big Shoota Boyz). I plan on ordering a small pack.

Hobby Clamps (Update)

Update: After only a few days the clamp is showing signs of wear and tear. The metal is thin and the hinge is flexing. It still works fine but honestly I can't see it being any good after a few weeks but we'll see. I guess in this case you get what you pay for. At least this is a free sample.

If anyone knows of good high quality hobby clamps would you please post it here?

Hobby Clamps (Update)

I'm just curious, what exactly are hobby clamps like that used for? I've got a long history of woodworking and such, so I've used a lot of clamps, but I don't understand what you would use them for in modeling. If you care to enlighten me, I might be able to give some input on what to use

Re:Hobby Clamps (Update)

For me I use them primarily for when I'm assembling several models at once, I can glue parts on, clamp 'em and let them set while I move on to the next. My main use is for arms and such that gravity doesn't help set because they're odd shapes and angles.
