My question is this:
Would it be wise to buy the units that I like the look of (Lootas, Grots, Nobs) before buying the codex, and manipulating my army to fit around these models?

I am asking as am only 15 and so do not have that much time/money and so have to buy stuff NOW as it was my birthday last sunday.

I would say go for it, but still get the Codex first. Can't write yer list without after all! AOBR is a good starting point, and gives you some marines to sell on. Yes, as my sig says i have a 1500+ Eldar and AOBR marines and orks, but I want to expand the ork section.

Its like scouts, you have to do a 40 mile hike over two days, and 3 months of volunteering, physical activity (rowing), and a skill (wargaming)
