New Releases from Battlefront

Battlefront just put put up some spotlights on some of their new releases for this month.

First up is the Soviet Heavy Assault Gun Company boxed set, with four ISU-122 or 152 assault guns, and one IS-2 heavy tank. The different hulls are a nice touch, and I particularly like the one with two hatches open.

Next is the German PaK43 boxed set, with two PaK43 anti-tank guns and crew. This is another kit that I've been waiting on awhile. I think this gun was already available in one or two of the big army boxes, but it's definitely nice to have it out in its own boxed set now. I didn't realize until I read the spotlight that these guns have an anti-tank rating of 16. That's enough to blow the living crap out of basically any tank in the game. These things will definitely be an artillery and smoke magnet though, so using them to good effect might be tricky. They'd be a great area denial unit though (something that can be absolutely crucial in FoW).

Then we have the FoW mini I've probably been most excited about this whole year! The Hetzer is finally here! I guess the name "Hetzer" wasn't actually used during the war, the official designation being Jagdpanzer 38(t). Based off the older Czech-made chassis, these things look pretty sweet. They're basically like a super-up-armored Marder (Their front armor in-game is as effective as a StuG III or IV). They've got a couple special rules that I'd bet will make them a popular choice in the near future.

There's also a spotlight this week for resin Opel Maultier trucks. These were only available in metal before, I believe, so it's nice to have them available in resin.

And finally the Late War Panzergrenadier platoon that was only available before in a boxed set with half-tracks is now available in a blister. These are some of my favorite LW infantry sculpts that Evan has done, and it's nice to be able to get them in a blister so I can mix them in with my LW Grenadiers without buying a boxed set with half-tracks that I don't need.

Enjoy!

Hurrah for the Hetzer! It's about time they got it in.

Now if they would just crank out a M26 Pershing I'd be happy to finally start that Yankee army.
