Necron WBB question

"necrons have a remarkable ability to self repair even the most horrendous damage. Any Necron MODEL reduced to 0 wounds, or would otherwise be removed as a casualty, remains on the table and is laid on its side to show that it is damaged. ....

at the start of every necron turn, damaged necrons may a self repair. roll of 1-3 .....

"additionally the self repair ability only works if the wounded necron is within 6 inches of another model of the same type, although not necessarily of the same unit.

heres the situation. I killed a full unit of necron warriors , all of them lieing on there sides. Only 1 of them was within six inches of another model of the same type while the rest were over 8 inches awaqy. My interepetation of the rules is that it is governed by the models themselves and not the unit. Reason im thinking this is in other rules, the text defferentiates between models and units. Since the text here states model i would assume it is governed by the individual models and not the unit as a whole.

Thanks for your help again.
Wolflock

Necron WBB question

I'm confused on the orientation of the models.

Did you force the remaining model to break, and that's how he ended up 8" away from the original unit?

Just curious as to how 1 model was within 6 " but the others were 8" away.

Anyway - as long as a "necron" unit of the same type (a warrior model for this example) is within 6" of the standing model, they get to roll (unless killed by 2x str shooting or power wepaon CC) etc etc.

Firstly, wrong forum.

Cheese Elemental wrote:I play it so that it has a chaining effect; if a Necron gets up, the next in line gets to roll if it's out of range of another model.

No, this is wrong. All WBB Rolls are done at once. You measure at the start of the turn. Any Necrons out of range are removed, and any in range get their WBB

I'll try and sum it up as best I can:

Necrons that are killed by any means (By Shooting or in Assault), other than those causing Instant Death (both Shooting and Assault) or Close Combat Attacks that Ignore Armour Saves (Unless there is a Orb nearby), may attempt a WBB roll at the start of their next movement Phase, so long as they are also within 6" of another Necron Unit of the SAME type (Warriors to Warriors, Immortals to Immortals etc).

However, an exception to this is Sweeping Advance. If a Necron Unit is destroyed by a Sweeping advance, the unit is removed entirely (along with and "Downed" Necrons from that unit) with NO chance to WBB.
